The Debate Over Face Mask, TO/NOT TO Wear Face Mask in Public is a Question Americans want to have clarity ON until we get through this!
One source of evidence that we have is the 1918 Spanish Flu Pandemic of wearing masks. There are photographs where fans and players alike are wearing masks to baseball games. I have another factor that can provide evidence. I have a family member that had cancer; and during her chemo treatments she and I both had to wear masks when we were around each other. I was the main caregiver, so the mask was a normal precaution for us.
The main reason for the mask that we both wore was her immune system was highly susceptible to infectious diseases while taking chemo treatments. I would hate to think that I was a source of her having an infection that she couldn’t fight off while she was in a fight for and of her life.
It was a small thing for us to follow to keep her safe while she went through chemo, especially for me to do so. Along with masks, there were places of social gatherings we would have to avoid until she was clear of taking chemo.
I have no definitive, hard evidence if masks and avoiding social gatherings worked, but one hard fact I do have is my wife is still with me and 22-years since her last chemo treatment.

Face Masks that we are asked to wear in public is such a small price to pay in order to not be a host to COVID-19 where it won’t have a sanctuary to thrive in and spread to others. Most of all, Pandemics have a lifespan that they can exist in before they are either eradicated or they just die out. To have an economy and life for people to make a living and social interaction, we need to do everything we can to be safe and deny this virus an environment to survive.
