Ray-Ban, by Bausch+Lomb, is a trusted optical company by pilots and sports enthusiastic alike. Ray-Ban was established in 1937 and supplied the U.S. Military with sunglasses used by aviators in the cockpit and ground personnel. Ray-Ban provides the finest eye care protection for any outdoor activity that are just as stylish as they are in providing 100% UV protection from the sun’s rays and other environmental conditions. Aviators are also great to prevent debris from coming in contact with the eyes in various activities. Each pair comes with a rigid protective carrying case to keep your aviators protective when not in use and also has cleaning cloth to maintain visuals.
Most sunglasses are polarized to reduce the glare and sun’s rays that provide protection for those outdoors like fishing or driving. These polarized sunglasses, however, interfere with pilots in the cockpit trying to read their instrument panel. Most cockpit’s instrumental panels have polarized surfaces over the gauges that makes reading them very difficult. This is the same with I-Pads images that can appear dark. We carry two sizes of lenses (58 mm and 62 mm) for maximum protection not just for your eyes only, but for protection of the delicate skin around your eyes that prevent damage to the skin that causes accelerated aging and fine lines to form.
I, personally, wear the hook-around Ray-Ban whether I’m flying, riding my INDIAN Motorcycle, driving my jeep or truck, or on my tractor working on my farm. I’m 65 years old and I want to protect my eyes from macular degeneration and cataracts. I spend majority of my time outside working on my farm, around the hangar, or flying; and I want maximum protection that I can count on that Ray-Bans provides me. The last thing I want to do is to jeopardize my vision. I DO NOT leave the house without my Ray-Ban aviators! Your eye sight is too important to jeopardize one of your most important senses. My aviators are so important to me, that I keep a spare pair in my flight bag with my Aviation Charts.
