The Benefits of Eco-psychology Fitness, the Opportunity of Incorporating the Outdoors into your Workout Program for Mind, Body, and Soul

There is a push, especially with COVID-19, to get outside to perform our workouts for safety issues. But there is an added benefit to being outdoors, and the effects that nature has on our minds to relax, rejuvenate, and reset our minds. This is one reason why I play golf; and not from a cart, but by walking.

 

One of the best options and opportunities to improve both your mental, physical, and spiritual health is with an outdoor activity, like golf. But there is a way to bring the outdoors inside,  I have a home gym where I perform a major part of my fitness regimen. But if you look at my home gym in the featured image, you will see brick and natural tones of the floor and trim. A lot of research went into my renovation project, even down to the door that I hung.

This wasn’t just by accident or on a whim, but careful planning and coordinating for this renovation project. When you think of brick and natural earth tone colors, your mind associates these with being outside. After I completed the renovation of my home gym and actually started working out in my gym, I discovered my mind being more relaxed and experiencing a Time Warp Manipulation.

A Time Warp Manipulation of Your Workout

What I mean by Time Warp Manipulation, or TWM, is that there are some aerobic exercises in my workout that take 40 minutes to perform and it felt every bit of 40- minutes. But after my renovation of my home gym with brick and earth tone colors, that 40-minute aerobic exercise now seemed like 15- minutes. NO JOKE!

As a matter of fact, the first night I used my home gym, my wife had to come up to my gym and find out why I was detained. She knew usually that I completed my workout sessions within an hour, but I was going on an hour-and-a-half and didn’t even realize the time that had passed.

What is great about renovation projects is the material that you have to choose from. You don’t have to be a mason to enjoy the benefits in an Eco interior area. Now the look of brick can be done with wallpaper, and the earth tones are relatively easy to paint over existing walls and floors, without a second coat of paint. My floor paint was a deck quality grade paint. I now look forward to my exercise sessions. I find that my mind is more relaxed and less fatigued both during and after the workout session.

I’m not clairvoyant by renovating my home gym before COVID-19 hit, but just coincidence. I did some research into Eco-psychology and its impact on the human mind. Eco-psychology can even promote meditation during your workout sessions. The money and time I put into renovating my home gym has paid tremendous dividends.

The Added Benefits of a Home Gym

 

The renovation of my home gym has also helped me get reps in for my golf game, especially pertaining to the short game. I can’t even calculate the added benefit that Eco-psychology had on my renovation project.

For those gym owners and people thinking about either doing a home gym or renovating, think about brick or brick wallpaper and earth tones in paint schemes. It will be worth the investment.

The Impact of Nutrition, Fitness, and Lifestyle

A lot of attention has been given to fitness, but just as important, if not more so, is your nutrition. Your health is 80 percent Nutrition and lifestyle with 20 percent being fitness. Your nutrition being 80 percent can even benefit your appearance. There are adds for skincare products where they, the company, have people on in their 60’s stating how beneficial a particular product is, especial to the eyes.
