Nutrition & Fitness is more than flexibility and vitality of muscle, but rejuvenating what years affect the most, the age of our skin

An effective nutrition and fitness program can halt and reverse the age process of the skin. A diet that is high in fiber and protein is essential to increase the amount of collagen, and exercise improves the effectiveness of the T-Cell on the cellular level. The name of the game is that 80 percent of your health and health of your skin comes from nutrition, or your diet.

The name of the game is to reduce the effects of inflammation that can cause excessive aging of the skin. One source of important nutrition in your diet is fiber and protein. Fiber isn’t just for your digestion anymore, but your skin health, which is the main indicator of your health. Fiber helps absorb lutein, lycopene, and vitamin C needed for collagen.

Protein strengthens and rejuvenates skin and reduces the effects of aging. Protein increases the amount of collagen for healthy and firmer skin. The amino acids found in protein help firmness and elasticity in the skin and both reduce inflammation, the enemy of your skin.

Occasionally, old-timers, like myself, are called in to help with emergency restoration efforts with transmission lines, like Louisiana had with both Hurricane Laura and Delta. Like most retirees, we can’t part with our library of specifications that we’ve collected over the years and pick up and go to work. For most of us, it is like we never left the design, construction, and maintenance work.

This is another contribution to a healthy diet and fitness program that improves memory and cognitive function. What improves the heart function also improves the cognitive function. My 925-MET Diet Program is based on foods high in fiber and protein, but low in sugar and the hidden sugar, starches. The Hurricane restoration was the first time I have been back to work since I retired. The guys that I worked with couldn’t believe the weight I lost, but even more noticeable to them was my physical conditioning that I achieved, months after I retired.

The guys that I worked with were so impressed with my conditioning at age 63 that they talked me into taking my shirt and tee shirt off for a photo op, above, in front of  a pole truck hauling damaged poles that were salvageable. These salvageable poles are hauled to Veterans groups working in agriculture.
