How to Read Nutrition Labels for Weight Lost– Composite Score You’ll Need to Turn Your Body into a Calorie Burning Juggernaut for Weight Loss. No Sugar DOES NOT Mean that it Prevents Weight Gain and is Healthy, just the Opposite is TRUE!      

A Nutrition Label Composite Score of 3.25 is what you’ll need to turn your body into a calorie burning juggernaut to use food as energy instead of storing it as fat, it is that simple.   

Here an Example of Comparing Nutrition Labels to obtain the Composite Scores called MPI, or Metabolic Pyruvate Index.    

Pyruvate plays a major role in the body’s cells metabolism food and by exercising.

Just compare the two nutrition labels in the featured image above, you would think that the nutrition label, with only 15 calories (on the left), would be a healthier choice compared to 140 calories (on the right). But, that would be a wrong assessment to make.

This download has all of my fitness and golf videos where I demonstrate each exercise and golf element with safe procedures and go over the minimum amount of exercise equipment that you will need. Mainly dumbbells and elastic tubing is all you need to start. I have added a boxing bag and exercise bike a couple of years ago. If you have a door, you have your home gym in any room of your house. Make sure you use the jam side of the door and NOT the hinge side for safety.

The compose score for the nutrition label on the left is 15 that is 6.66 times the allowed limit of 3.25 of food to allow the body to metabolize or use food as energy. This high composite score of 15 interferes with the body’s ability to burn food as energy, but instead stores food as a fat. The high composite score is the reason you can’t either maintain/or lose weight even if you exercise excessively and regardless of what the calorie count is on the label.

You want to exercise for at least 20- minutes 4- times a week for conditioning and toning. You don’t want to sweat it out in the gym and not see results. This is why THE QATSPY® METAFIT DIET & FITNESS Program is important for losing weight and getting into shape.

Using the Composite Score for Weight Loss

Starting on December 01st, 2014, I went from 37.75- inch waistline down to 31.75- inch waistline by February 27, 2015 (see my Waistline Chart, below). That was 6.0- inches that I lost, that represented 42- pounds in 12.5- weeks. Roughly, for every inch you lose in the waistline represents approx. 4.5-to-5- pounds of weight lost.

I lost a total of 52- pounds that represented 9.25- inches in my waistline by September 05th, 2015, within 10- months. That is going from a 37.75- inch waistline down to 28.50- inches in a 10- months time frame. What is even more impressive is that I’ve maintained my 28.50-inch waistline now for over 9- years, that I monitor weekly, even now.

The Gym is Great for Fitness and Conditioning, but not for Weight Loss

I’m performing bench presses in my gym at age 66. While the fitness is important, it only represents 20% of your ability to lose weight. Eighty- percent (80%) of your ability to lose weight will be your diet, but don’t neglect your fitness especially strength training.

Eighty- percent (80%) of losing weight is your DIET!

If you ever made New Year’s Revolutions before to lose weight by hitting the gym, you soon discovered how inefficient that was in a few weeks. Hitting the gym is great for your FITNESS and CONDITIONING, but NOT for DIETING to lose weight! You have to include a DIET Component to lose weight. But it is important to include a fitness program as I do for strengthening and toning, as noted, above, where I’m in my gym. Also, for every pound of muscle you add, you are burning 50 more calories per day.    

The Importance of the MPI Composite Score

You want a diet that is high in FIBER, PROTEIN, PROBIOTIC, and OMEGA-3 fats, (what also keeps your skin young looking), but low in sugar, the hidden sugar (starches), saturated, and trans fats. Your weight gain is due to consuming foods that includes sugars, no doubt, but also the other culprit, those pesky STARCHES! If you look on the nutrition label you won’t find a category for STARCHES.

The MPI Composite Score that is at or below 3.25 are foods that are high in fiber, protein, probiotic, omega-3 fats, but low in sugar, the hidden sugar (starches), saturated, and trans fats. The Nutrition Label for RANCH STYLE BEANS (on the right), in the feature image, contains 140 calories that has a MPI Composite Score of 1.97. What makes the RANCH STYLE BEANS healthy is the amount of PROTEIN and FIBER they contain, as well as, be a PROBIOTIC and containing omega-3, (healthy fats) and complex carbs.

Any dietitian will tell you that pinto beans are considered among the perfect foods for your diet. I keep all my menu items at each meal and for snack at or below 3.25. I only have one item per week at a MPI of 5.75 as an incentive meal item, as a reward. YOU GOT TO HAVE REWARDS, besides just having a mirror or photograph to look gauge your success isn’t enough.

      

Besides dropping my weight and inches, I also dropped my vital numbers and the effects of aging of my skin at age 66. Below are my vital numbers from my last physical that I had in August of 2023. Also below is a photograph taken on August 12th, 2023 after a photoshoot we did in our hangar for our fall aviation collection, again, I’m 66 years old.

Weight- 148 Lbs.

IN CLOSING– If you want to have a fountain of youth, your diet, fitness, and lifestyle are your greatest access to your fountain of youth that exceeds anti-aging creams or skin treatments, because it works inside-out. In addition to feeling and looking younger, you can turn in healthier numbers. I’m proud of all my numbers above, but I’m especially proud of my Total Cholesterol. A healthy Cholesterol is a number below 180.
