Health Benefits of Smoked Fresh Meats– has over Processed Meats! We need to include Smoked Fresh Meats for our Mental and Physical Health. Process meats raises our risk of obesity/diabetes/cardiovascular disease/impair cognitive function
College Football and Baseball provides us sport fans an opportunity for us to not only enjoy the game on the gridiron and diamond; but the opportunity of tailgating with others enjoying those wonderful meats and side dishes that are a major part of gameday from morning to nightfall. Social gathering as we learned from COVID is a significant part of our health just as much as diet and fitness is. But tailgating provides us the opportunity to enjoy fresh meats and avoid process foods.
On Jesse Watters Primetime Show on Thursday night (15Aug2024), Rachel Compos-Duffy was standing in for Watters, she discussed a story with a professional about the negative impact of over processed foods on our health. The emphasis was that we need to consume all natural foods in our diet’s for better health. Process foods are contributing to poor health and obesity that is 46% of our nation’s population.
The Benefits of Fresh Smoke Meats
BEEF JERKY was one of my favorite snacks that I carried with me into the cockpit in my flight bag flying aerial patrol for over 36- years. Beef jerky was my go to healthy snack that I kept available in my flight bag at all times when I stopped for fuel to boost my energy level.
My Past working in my Grandfather’s Catering Business
When I retired from Entergy here in Mississippi, I was able to take welding classes at a local VOTECH College to provide me with my second career. My first project after retiring was to weld up a scaled-down version of my grandfather’s heavy metal smoker that we used in our own catering business.
On the farm where I was raised, in Nixa Missouri, my grandfather turned one of his barns into a commercial kitchen and bakery that people would stop by for smoked meats and baking goods, like our whole wheat breads, featured in the photograph above.
We turned a large 10 foot long propane tank into a smoker where I watched a neighbor that was a welder custom built my grandfather his smoker for his catering business on a trailer that we had under a lean to shed of his barn now bakery. I knew then that welding was going to be a part of my career some day.
The only thing I enjoy more than the aroma from a smoker is flux from welding; it reminds me of the quote from Apocalypse Now where Robert Duvall quoted that famous line- I love the smell of napalm in the morning. In my case it would be- I love the smell of smoke and flux in the morning.
The additional benefits of smoked fresh meats is that you can enjoy juicy and tender meats even with brisket cuts that are considered the healthiest choice of meats. There is nothing that has that wonderful taste of either sliced or chopped brisket that is smoked to perfection. Just look at Bar-B-Que restaurants that the parking lots are packed during the lunch hour.
The Enjoyment of that Aroma from Smoked Meats
But smoking meats provides us something we often overlook and are in need of, that quiet time to enjoy the great outdoors in nature sitting while prepping that right combination of charcoal and wood blend for smoking meats. I look forward to taking that 30-to-45 minutes out on my patio or at tailgates during the early morning hours prepping the fire for smoking meats; especially listening to my favorite country music or soft Jazz with my cup of coffee or tea.
I have a good friend, Sebastian, that enjoys smoked fresh meats more than I do that wakes me up to go out to fire up my smoker. Sebastian enjoys the outdoors as much as I do on the farm. I think that he enjoys Country Music, as well as, soft Jazz like Cindy Bradley, a great trumpet player.
You add a tailgate to the atmosphere with a smoke from a pit of smoking meats and you have that perfect atmosphere to enjoy with friends at sporting events. With the addition of Oklahoma and Texas to the SEC, we have a chance and opportunity to enjoy various styles of smoked meats. This type of atmosphere provides for that perfect relaxed social gathering with a wide cross section of people and fans over the South east to South West coming together for sports.
IF You Build A SMOKER, They Will COME
If you build a SMOKER, they will COME to that aromatic aroma being emitted from your perfect blend of charcoal and wood for smoking rubbed meats that fills the air. There is not a better invitation than that of smoke from a chimney of a heavy metal pit.
When I smoke meats, I use Kingsford Charcoal and with my preferred Mesquite Wood Pellets that can be purchased from Walmart Store for under $10 in a 20 Lb bag. Of course, you will have to be counted among the deplorables that Democrats label US that shop at Walmart that also enjoy eating meat, what we call real Americans that love and help built our country. And We aren’t WOKE!
Custom Heavy Metal Smoker Gridiron Pit
A part of my second career is building custom built smoker gridiron pits for smoking and Bar-B-Queing with Heavy Metal. Heavy Metal is essential for building a smoker to retain that low heat that is essential for that perfect tender-juicy-nutritious meat for better health. My Smoke Gridiron Pit is 16- inch Dia. x 30- inches long x 115 Lbs of pure true grit smokers. I am working on two other sizes, a smaller and larger version of my Smoke Gridiron Pit, shown above and below that I latter personalized.
DON’T Overlooked the Other Health Benefits from Smoked Meats
Since I have been smoking all my meats, my health number are lower where I don’t have to take supplements or prescribed medication at age 67. Healthy smoked meats provide your body with needed Protein, B-12, Omega-3 fatty acid, zinc, and iodine. Iodine doesn’t get enough attention that it should get by providing you three (3) of the key age-defying indicators that people notice the most- healthier hair, skin, and waistline; along with cognitive function, and hormonal balance.
A healthy waistline is based on taking your height in inches and dividing by 2. Because I model, I use 2.2 factor to monitor my waistline.
At age 67, I’m not on any prescribed medication but rely on my MELIORA DIET & FITNESS to maintain my health that allows me to model our SPORTY COCKPIT Apparel and Gear. I just did a photoshoot last month (July2024) featuring our leather flight jackets at our hangar. Modeling requires dedication to a healthy diet and fitness regimen, especially over the age of 40.
The Most Challenging Photoshoot that You can Do
Modeling is tough enough at any age over 30 where the camera highlights every detail in one’s appearance for better or worst. But you couple that with what we call an AB Challenge and you double the scrutiny of your health and fitness.
After our photoshoot for our Online SPORTY Cockpit Apparel & Gear, above, I took off my leather flight jacket, shirt, and T-shirt and put on my blue jeans and sat on my INDIAN Scout 60 Motorcycle. For a guy 67 years old, this places an entire new requirement on one’s health and fitness, causing someone to sweat bullets. I credit my fitness program that includes Cardio-Aerobic-Strength Training and my diet that includes fresh meats for my age-defying healthy skin and hair based on a diet that is rich in protein, fiber, Ogema-3 fats, probiotics, and iodine.
People that have eliminated fresh meat from their diet in favor of a vegetarian or vegan diets can jeopardize their health according to studies like the: Harvard how Meat is essential for Mental Health . I love my vegetables that include having pinto beans at every meal; but I have at least one meat per day that I personally smoke.
Smoking process naturally tenderizes the meat, that I like to use Mesquite wood for that smoked-fresh taste that helps preserves the meat for that fresh taste during the upcoming week. When I smoke my ground Sirloin burgers during the weekend with my Kansas City Strips steaks, I smoke at least 6 additional Sirloin ground steaks at one time to have during the week with my Pinto Beans. This makes meal planning during the week easy for busy families to have for a nutritious meal.
