The 4:00 Palmer Preset Golf Wrist Position, 4 Every Action there is an Equal and Opposite Reaction that Provides an Advantage to the Golfer

Newton’s third law of motion equally applies to the golf swing as well. One of the major coaching points that I make in my golf coaching sessions is to preset as many elements in the Strike Zone before the takeaway swing even begins. This is just like what a baseball batter does while in the batter’s box.

This takes the thinking process out of the golf swing process. Because, it is like Yogi Berra once stated in one of his Yogiisms- How can you think and hit at the same time? The answer is, YOU CAN’T!

This goes along with Subconscious Rule No. 9 below:

Subconscious Rule No. 9 States- The greater the conscious effort reduces the subconscious intuitive response. You might very well practice your golf game using your conscious mind on the range or in the backyard. But I can guarantee you, the golfer, one thing, that once the golfer steps foot onto the golf course, the subconscious mind will take over.

The best approach to the golf game is similar to training for a marathon, where the runner actually trains their mind and conditions their body to run a marathon. If the golf swing isn’t instinctive, the golf swing won’t be available to the golfer on the golf course where they spent long hours practicing. This is one reason that golfers experience difficulty trying to take their golf swing from the practice area on the range or in the backyard to the course.

If you’ve ever wondered why your golf swing on the range or in the backyard doesn’t reflect any resemblance of your golf swing on the golf course, this is the reason. You’re using a different part of your brain to play golf than practice. I continue to compare the golf swing of driving a golf ball down the fairway to that of driving a vehicle down the highway.

The majority of your tasks when driving a vehicle are instinctive or automatic. The same is true with your golf swing, as it is on automatic, like a program running on your PC. However, that program is structured for the conscious mind that is overridden by the subconscious mind on the golf course. The secret to programming is that the program has to be in a form that the PC can read.

Use Ole Man Time to Develop a Consistent Golf Game

For the right handed golfer, the golfer wants to use a home plate and a clock face to help program the subconscious mind to Sync/Preset the golf swing. That means taking an imaginary clock face approach to the swing path. An important coaching point for any golfer of any level to incorporate into their training is the use of a figurative clock face placed on a home plate under the golf ball. The orientation of the clock face is with the 9:00 Position toward the target and the 12:00 in the direction of the golfer’s nose, and with 3:00 Position to the right.

The golfer wants to Sync/Preset these maneuvers to be established in the 4:00 Position to lock the wrists into the Lock Position, before taking the handle of the golf club to the top of the golf swing.

If slicing or skulking is your Achilles heel, the 4:00 Palmer Preset will definitely improve your golf game. When the golfer Syncs/Presets their wrists, the golfer wants to look down at their wrists in the Lock Position and see the Wrists, as illustrated in the featured image above. The subconscious mind works on our five (5) senses to develop the sixth (6) sense.

So when you train your subconscious mind, you have to use your Vision, Sound, and Feel. If you’re thinking, you’re not training. As soon as you step foot onto the golf course, your subconscious mind kicks in, like adrenaline. As a matter of fact, adrenaline fuels the subconscious mind to take over. So you have to practice and train with adrenaline to be effective on the golf course.

The golfer using the 4:00 Palmer Preset Golf Wrist Position sets 80 percent of the entire golf swing with two (2) simple maneuvers, muscle memory or FEEL. Below, I have produced two (2) YouTube Videos to illustrate the 4:00 Palmer Preset Golf Wrist Position in my Training facility to illustrate how you can practice this Sync/Preset Lock Position, even at night or during the off-season:

This 4:00 Palmer Preset Golf Wrist Position that is a part of The Palmer Brach Golf Coach APP will provide the golfer with more consistency on the golf course, because it is based on the baseball-type swing. If your baseball swing is or was more fluid and easier to perform than your golf swing, then this 4:00 Palmer Preset Golf Wrist Position technique is for you.

The term Palmer and Brach represent a tendon and muscle used to initiate the Sync/Preset of the wrists in the featured image. What is even more encouraging than the baseball-type swing in the golf swing is how easy these two maneuvers are to establish.

I have a friend who is a local sports broadcaster that went to Trustmark Park in Pearl, Mississippi, where the M-Braves, a farm team for the Atlanta Braves, has set up a chipping course on the outfield of the diamond. He made a broadcast from there with the voice of the M-Braves.

He made a perfect chip shot that I’ve never seen him make before. He wrote me back to confirm the Baseball-Type golf swing approach to his golf swing was a psychological advantage, and stated- ‘I love it Charles! That’s the most comfortable I’ve felt swinging a golf club!
