This A-2 Leather Flight Jacket is based on the same design, style, and manufacturing of the original one that the U.S. Army Air Corps commissioned 90– years ago on May 09, 1931. This A-2 Leather Flight Jacket replaced the A-1 Leather Flight Jacket. The upgrades included the front zipper, elastic-banded cuffs and waistband and the FR-rating to protect pilots and airborne units.
These upgrades gave the A-2 Leather Flight Jacket that charisma and charismatic look that pilots and airborne units wore with distinction and pride that included their branch and unit patches. This was their jacket of choice on missions or for social occasions that drew attention wherever the pilots and airborne units gathered.
Inspiration for the Indiana Jones Leather Jacket
The A-2 Leather Flight Jacket also inspired the leather jacket that Indiana Jones wore in his archeological expeditions that identified Harrison Ford’s character in his four movies that he made.
