Bar-B-Qing a Major Part of Our Culture– Here in the South from S. Carolina- Texas-Kansas and in The Ozarks Mountains B-B-Que is a Doctrine. Even the Last Supper the Lamb was to be Roasted over a fire that represented the Salvation of Israel
I don’t know about those that live outside of the Bible Belt; but we in the Bible Belt take four things very seriously. We Take our Bible, Bar-B-Que, our guns seriously and we don’t burn flags, especially the American Flag. Burning a flag is equivalent to burning a cross that Southern Democrats used to do in the south until we sent them out of the south.
Lately there has been a lot of attention given to the Last Supper even during the Olympics that I found insulting toward people’s faith, especially Christians. But I would like to focus on the Passover that I have observed since I could remember that preceded The Last Supper that was recorded in Matthews 26.
Despite what some in the WOKE Political Party believes, meat was a staple of the Hebrew Diet for over 4,000 years that included beef, lamb, quail, and fish. In Exodus 12:8, scriptures detail how the Lamb should be prepared by roasting over a fire.
We in the south that aren’t WOKE have taken roasting various meats to an entirely different elevated level with marinades, sauces, and smoking processes. This has spun off into highly contested Bar-B-Que Competitions for bragging rights especially in the Bible Belt. In the South, we hold Bar-B-Queing as a sacrosanct right and ritual that would rival any Culinary artist on the north-east or western elite coastal areas.
We are talking about the deep south to the midwest from North/South Carolina, to Tennessee, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, and my home state of Arkansas, in the Ozarks. Each state has a little different take on the marinating process, sauces, to the type of wood used. But the results are the same resulting in some of the best meats at lunch or dinner.
Bar-B-Que Connoisseurs
Bar-B-Que connoisseurs travel the entire south and midwest in search of that great tasting Bar-B-Que to savior and to write articles about to relay their experiences to others. I ride and fly across the south and midwest covering sports and fitness enjoying the great taste of meats that have been Bar-B-Qued to perfection. Being that I’m Jewish, I stick to chicken and beef because of my dietary laws.
I had coworkers and friends to tell me what an experience that I’m missing out on by not including pork in my diet. But I will have to rely on their accounts of savoring Bar-B-Que Pork. The best Bar-B-Que and the healthiest is Bisque that makes some of the best chop sandwiches and sliced meat dishes.
Meat Under Attack
The WOKE Democratic Party ultimate goal is to eliminate beef, pork, and chicken from our diets. For a party that believes in Democracy, they sure use a lot of unconstitutional mandates to push their agenda on to the rest of us real Americans. We need to send those mandates and those philosophies the way of the Dinosaurs. The WOKE Democrats want to return us to the Neanderthal era. But even the Neanderthals had fire to roast their meat over, we won’t even have fire to use.
Some on the left even state wrongly that Jesus was a vegetarian because they reference The Last Supper where Jesus presented the New Covenant to His disciples of bread and wine. But that was preceded by The Passover Meal.
But if you read the accounts of the Last Supper in Matthews 26:26- While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”
The phase While they were eating in Matthews 26 is in reference to the disciples eating The Passover Meal that included roasted Lamb, horseradish, boiled egg, green parsley, and saltwater with wine. This is referenced in the 17th verse of Matthews 26- “Where do you want us to make preparations for you to eat the Passover?
Also remember that after Jesus Resurrection, Jesus had fired up coals on the shoreline preparing fish for His disciples for them to eat when they return from fishing that morning.
My Bar-B-Que Smoker/Grill that I Welded Up
I love Bar-B-Queing where I recently went back and used my grandfather’s plans that he used to build his Bar-B-Que/smoker/grill for his catering business. I took those plans and scaled them down to fabricate and weld together my own Bar-B-Que/smoker/grill that has delivered that same high quality Ozark Mountain Bar-B-Que results that we used to serve our customers. Below is the photo of a 16-inch diameter x 30- inches long x 115 pound Bar-B-Que/smoker/grill.

Steaks that I prepared yesterday (Saturday, July 27th, 2024) reminded me of those great ribeyes that we used to prepare at my grandfather’s store for our customers. Nothing beats slow smoked/grilled ribeyes and bisque for a meal. Not even vegetables can deliver the protein that lean meat can provide.
For those suffering from sciatic nerve issues in addition to exercise, I have included Beets with Pinto Beans for my lunch and dinner meals. I was totally surprised how beets have alleviated my sciatic nerve issues from all those years flying aircraft for the past 36- years. Sitting in the cockpit takes a tremendous toll on the sciatic nerve.
So enjoy our Southern Midwest culture of Bar-B-Queing and the meat that it renders. The word render reminds me of Jimmy Buffett’s song Margaretville that was released in Oct 1977.
How I remembered Margaretville is that I was lying on an operating table for my first of four knee surgeries where the anesthesiologist was listening to this song by Jimmy Buffett. It stuck with me ever since. These four knee surgeries that also included a hip replacement was after being discharged from the U.S. ARMY after a jump.
I like what the Apostle Paul wrote about people judging you on what you eat in Colossians 2:16- Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath.
Above and below, I’m 67 years old where I appear in my mid-30’s. I contribute my condition to eating a healthy diet and exercising 6- days per week and remaining active on my farm, welding in my shop, and covering sports along with fitness.
