Deep fried corn-on-the-cob is a favorite side dish that our guests request on a daily basis. Guests new to the cafe see our side dish of Deep Fried Corn-on-the-cob on the menu and have to take a second look at this side item. Their expression tells you everything. Then the inevitable question- What is Deep Fried Corn-on-the-cob?
One bite of our deep fried corn-on-the-cob dipped in butter and sprinkled with Basil, salt, and Cavender’s Seasoning answers all of their questions that they have. The quick and deep frying process seals the natural sweetness into each kernel of corn on the ear, just like God intended it to taste. The response of each guest gives you the answer that once they pick up the ear of corn, they can’t put it down until they have finished.
Deep fried corn-on-the-cob is a great handheld vegetable, loved by all of our guests of all ages. We served the Deep Fried Corn-on-the-Cob with our steak burgers, shown in the featured image, but we also serve the Deep Fried Corn-on-the-Cob with our Mississippi Delta Southern Fried Catfish. The deep-frying process prevents the oil from soaking into the food.
Pan Fry Versus Deep Frying Process
The pan fry process can’t even compare with the deep-frying process that we use with our commercial fryers that operate on 220 V power supply. There is no comparison in the two frying processes. Hands down, the deep-frying process provides the best results to our guests.
We buy Cavender’s Greek Seasoning by the 5-pound bucket size, due to our daily use of this ingredient in our food preparation process.

Another special that we offer our guest is our homemade whole wheat rolls that we bake each morning. These homemade whole wheat rolls baked fresh every morning is based on a 200- year old recipe handed down in the Boatright Family.
