Another Incentive for Getting into Shape– Top 2 New Year’s Resolutions- Lose Weight/Get into Shape to Look Better/Strengthen Immune System

 

The two top New Year’s Resolution are:

1.   Lose Weight

2.   Get into Better Shape

Since COVID-19 isn’t going anywhere anytime too soon, as we had hoped for the start of a new year, getting into SHAPE takes on a whole new perspective. Let me explain why getting into better shape is really in your best interest as an effective booster against COVID. Strengthening your muscles actually strengthens your immune system. Just look at the data for hospitalization/deaths from COVID and how our immune systems is compromised by these common conditions:

  • 27% Hypertension
  • 18% Diabetes
  • 12% Cardiac disease
  • 11% Neurological
  • 09% Obesity

Also strengthening your muscular system not only builds stronger muscle tissue, but stronger muscles also improves your skin by producing collagen to slow or to even reverse the aging process. I have been following my fitness program since I was 12- years old. In the featured image above, I’m 64- years old and still work on my farm, play and coach golf, and ride my INDIAN Scout Bobber 60 Motorcycle. So getting into better SHAPE should take on a different meaning for you, like for younger looking skin. I don’t know too many people that wouldn’t like to have younger looking skin.

The common link between this list above showing the causes of hospitalizations/death due to COVID is a poor diet and lack of exercises. All five of these factors could be avoid in some cases just by following a simple healthy diet and fitness plan. What I’m surprised with from this listed above, was that obesity was ranked fifth behind neurological causes for hospitalizations/death. I wasn’t at all surprised that hypertension was ranked first, because it is the silent killer. Check your blood pressure daily.

What is nice about The DELPHI DIET & FITNESS System is that it is simple to follow just by being able to read nutrition labels from selective food you enjoy now that has a low Health Index Number from your grocery store and eating between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Including a fitness routine during your weekly schedule helps to strengthen your muscles and reduce stress levels, but more importantly, improves your immune system. What is a concern for me about some people’s workout routines is how heavily weighted they are toward aerobics. I had issues with Peloton® for years, until they started including strength training, FINALLY! Now they just need to add conditioning. Strength training is essential to getting into better shape that will include the health and condition of your skin.

A lot of people would like to feel better, but just as important to your psyche and confidence is looking better. Because your best Fashion Statement starts with your Fitness and Conditioning. Diet and fitness combined can allow you to not just stop the aging process, but actually reverse the aging process. Again in the featured image above, I’m 64- years old, and soon to be 65.

DELPHI SIMPLE FITNESS

What is convenient about the fitness component in The DELPHI System is that it doesn’t require elaborate or expensive exercise equipment or gym memberships. Below is the photograph of my GYM that is in the attic space above my golf training facility and photography studio that shows all the exercise equipment that I workout with that is just simple.

What is really nice about the DELPHI System is that you can start with just a few essential exercise equipment like a few dumbbells and elastic tubing, then add equipment as you would like or need. I don’t use any heavier dumbbells than 45 LBS. It isn’t the amount of weight that you lift, but the number of reps that you can do that counts.

The only two pieces of equipment that are not shown above in my GYM photo, above, are my stationary bicycle and my mountain bike that I workout with, as well. A great substitute for a bike if you don’t have one, is to just walk or jog for aerobic exercise. 

       

What the Health Professionals Aren’t Talking About

What is troubling to me about our health professionals is the precautions that they AREN’T stressing. They stress- getting vaccinated and getting boosters, wear masks, sanitize your hands, and maintain distances. All of these are important, but they don’t stress nearly enough about the top two (2) New Year Resolutions that are on 90 percent of peoples list, lose weight and get into better shape.

This is my Waistline Chart that I kept starting on November 28, 2014 and continued weekly measurements until I exceeded my goal of having a 32.0- inch waistline by 2.50- inches. Also noticed that I started right in the middle of the Holiday Season; a true test of a diet program. I still measure my waistline weekly now to maintain.
