A MUST on any Golfer’s Bucket List to DO!- ONE of the Best Training Techniques to Train the Area between Your Ears, Your Subconscious Mind
Yogi Berra had a great quote that he applied to batter’s that can also be applied to the ordinary golfer- “How can you think and hit at the same time?” Thinking is a conscious function. But we don’t play golf with our conscious mind, such as swing thoughts; we play golf with our subconscious mind, our instincts. If you ever wonder why your practice doesn’t show up on the golf course with YOU, you just found out why.
If your golf swing isn’t instinctive, BAD NEWS IS, you aren’t going to be playing golf based on all those hours you spent on the practice range or in your backyard working on your golf game. In order for all those hours to count and to show up with you on the golf course, you have to include challenges or drills while you are working on your golf game to count on the golf course. This is the same method Football coaches are using when they use 7-On-7-Drills; these drills create that same simulated conditions that their players will experience during an actual game-day.
Here are three (3) Conditions that must be present during each and every practice session for your golf swing to become instinctive:
- Normal and routine tasks and conditions must exist.
- Rely on a high degree of relaxation, confidence, and muscle memory.
- The conscious and subconscious minds are focused on two different situations.
Conditions are those that simulate those of the golf course, or Game-Day in other sports.
Muscle memory are your instincts.
Now if you want to heighten and simulated your conditions along with increasing your adrenaline just a little, Video Tape your drills.
