The NF&L Nutrition Fitness and Lifestyle Survival Guide to Face Life’s Challenges

In sports, the worst thing an athlete can do is to develop anxiety and fear, as it takes them out of their training and game-day philosophy. Teams that stay with game-day philosophy that they trained with focuses on the basics and their training in order to compete at the highest level. There are  going to be lulls in the ebb and flow of the game. But the team or athlete that maintain their refocus and concentrate has highest confidence in their training and can overcome the game’s challenges.

One of the major distractions in the game and life is the mental noise that team and players have to learn to tune out and just focus and have confidence in their training. The team that is the most conditioned and disciplined can overcome distractions, even during competition, they are never shaken in their confidenece. They don’t avoid challenges, but use them to sharpen their mental edge and strength. Nine percent of all challenges are mental challenges. So we are going to have to deal with the mental issues, like anxiety and fear.

The team that is prepared, persistent, patient, and are proactive can face any challenge, like the Coronavirus. It’s all about doing the small things well and being diligent and consistent. WE CAN DO THIS. Like the following quote from NFL Linebacker, Ray Lewis:

Nutrition– Avoid foods that are high in sugar and starches. Stay with foods that are high in protein, fiber, and vitamins and essential minerals. These provide the nutrition to allow your own body to fight off diseases and recover in short order. I have a very simple Weight Factor Formula that I use to evaluate my food:

WF= Carbohydrates + Dietary Fiber + Sugar + Protein/ Calories

I try to keep 90 percent of my foods below the 3.25 Weight Factor and don’t go over 5.75 for the remaining 10 percent for my treat foods. The treat food is essentially one meal I can have a food item between 3.25 and 5.75 WF. In doing so, I managed to lose 32 pounds in three months and 52 pounds within nine months, or 8.2 inches in my waistline.

I’m 62 years old, and have the energy level and ability of a 32-year-old, which is important to fight off diseases. The important fact is to remain active both mentally, physically, and spiritually. I also take Acidophilus on a daily basis. My main food groups that I consider the perfect food are pinto beans and sweet potatoes, which I posted the nutrition label for Pinto Beans, one of my staple foods.

Also my blood pressure usually is 116/69.

Fitness– Fitness is the key part to allow your body to function at the highest level possible regardless of your age. The human body is an amazing creation in that it allows the body to defend itself and heal itself. We’ve just got to keep it in a finely tuned shape possible and allow it to do what it is designed to do. Fitness, coupled with nutrition, can give you an age-defying ability, just not for cosmetic reasons, but for health reasons, which is more important. If you are 62 or 72, but your body function as a 32-year-old, then you have an edge that no vaccine can compare with in remaining healthy.

Also, 98.9 percent of the people who contract the Coronavirus will recover and are great pharmaceutical laboratories for plasma in what is called Passive Antibodies Therapy to help others to recover and become immune to the Coronavirus. I know a lot of people run, jog, and bicycle, which are great exercises, but you need a strength program as well. For every pound of muscle you develop, you burn 50 calories extra per day.

Now Lifestyle– This is just as important as the previous components in your health. Use good hygiene, wash your hands, Cover your mouth with a cloth when you cough or sneeze, nob your head or tilt your cap for greetings, maintain a safe barrier around yourself, and If you Smoke, Stop; get plenty of sleep (6-8 hours), based on you criteria, Meditate and develop your faith, and select a sport that you can engage in on a regular basis. There is nothing like having a fitness routine that supports a sport.

And one other thing, develop a habit to read to develop your mind.

These NF&L items will go a long way to help you survive this period and also develop a healthier lifestyle.

Now for a healthier lifestyle is to incorporate a sport. Athletes have the natural ability to ignore distractions that only cause anxiety and fear instead people that have a sport develop their focus on their training and objectives. Athletes have the ability to analyze a situation in real-time and respond quickly. They realize while conditions change, their objective remain the same.

A great movie was Chariots of Fire, where Eric Liddell stated- I believe God made me for a purpose, for training, but He also made me fast. And when I run I feel His pleasure.

So here are some things to remember:

  • 98.9 % of the people who even contract the Coronavirus will recover without any problems.
  • These people that do recover are the natural pharmaceutical laboratories.
  • That people over 60 need to take added precautions.
  • Exercise and nutrition with rest are important and distance helps.
  • Take advantage of this opportunity to start exercising and developing a healthy, nutritional diet. Anti-aging capabilities with exercise are just as important as vaccines are. If you can boost your immune system where it  behaves more like you are 32 rather than 62 or 72, you’re away ahead of the curve, in more ways than one.
  • And please stop listening to reporters like Jim Acosta, he just provide aid, abets, and comfort the enemy, FEAR!
