This photograph was taken of me at age 65 in my Home Gym that is located above my golf training facility. When I mention above my Golf Training facility, I’m saying that my gym isn’t air conditioned or heated. Temperatures can reach 118 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer months. That helps me condition and build my stamina for working on my farm. Sweating also helps the skin out also.

TOP GUN Dogfight-Type Workout at Age 65– In Both TOP GUN Movies, there’s a Volley in TOP GUN 1 and Dogfight Football Scene in TOP GUN 2  

I have attached the clip where the cast in TOP GUN:MAVERICK discussed what Tom Cruise called Dogfight Football on the Beach that was shot twice. Even cast members in their 30’s found the beach scene to be the pinnacle of showing off one’s fitness. What was interesting about this interview clip was how the cast prepared for the two shootings on the beach.

This is the YouTube Video describing the Beach Dogfight Football scene. During this interview some of the cast are describing how this scene had to be shoot twice because there wasn’t enough sweat. They used coconut oil to represent sweat. This scene was when a couple of ladies in their mid-60’s made the statement that Tom Cruise was Damn Good Looking.

Listen to how the cast compared shooting the scenes in the F-18 Hornet, pulling 7 G’s, to that of the beach football scene. They described training and preparing more for the Beach Dogfight Football scene than they did the actual flying maneuvers. You hear people on ads talk about various diets and fitness programs that they are following; but the true test of a diet and fitness program is the AB Challenge in front of the camera lens.

It is one thing to do an AB Challenge in one’s 20’s or 30’s, as these TOP GUN:MAVERICK Cast members did; but it is taking it to a completely different level in doing an AB Challenge in your mid-60’s, where in the featured image, I’m 65 years old in my Gym. Tom Cruise and I share a birthday in July, along with one of my favorite literary writers, Henry David Thoreau. Tom Cruise is turning 60 on July 3rd, 2022. Happy Birthday, Tom Cruise, Thanks for bringing TOP GUN:MAVERICK to the silver screen.

I was watching TOP GUN:MAVERICK for the second time to list all of the aerial maneuvers, when a couple of ladies sitting next to us in their mid-60’s remarked- ‘Tom Cruise is Damn good-looking.’ There can’t be enough said about following a very effective diet and fitness program than that statement. Hey guys, even though diet is 80 percent of reaching and maintaining your health, sweat equity of fitness still is 20 percent of having a flat AB and toned muscles, especially for summer.

There are three (3) things that get noticed more than anything else- (1) What you’re wearing, (2) Flat ABS, and (3) Health of your skin. All of these are dependent on WHAT and WHEN you eat; and HOW and WHEN you workout. I have followed The DELPHI DIET & CAST FITNESS System since I retired in June of 2015. The other AB Challenge was taken in our Hangar after we did a photoshoot on May 19th, 2022 for our TOP GUN:MAVERICK promotional. What is special about this particular photoshoot is the aircraft in the background, a P-51-D Mustang that Tom Cruise is flying in this movie. I would like to take a moment to recognized the last Red Tail Tuskegee airman that passed away this last past week that flew the P-51 during World War II, Alexander Jefferson.

If you want a full-body workout to lose weight and build stamina, a boxing bag and exercise bicycle workouts are the ticket. One thing that I routinely do before my workouts is drink a cup of coffee. Coffee boosts your metabolism by 35 percent, burning more calories what the goal is to do. The other thing I would suggest you do during your workout sessions is reaching your Target Heart Rate (THR) during your cardio-aerobic training. But DO NOT leave out strength training. Strength training is what builds and tones your muscles and also has a direct impact on your age-defying skin condition.

I did a 3- Part Video for WJTV-12 SPORTS ZONE Show leading up to the 2021 US Open where I cover my golf training technique of taking my golf swing from the Batter’s Box to the Tee Box to hit more Fairways & Greens in regulation or better. As appreciation for me doing this 3-part video series, the WJTV-12 production team put together a Television promotional that they ran and that I could use in my golf training business.
