It is only fitting that TOP GUN: Maverick Movie bridged between Memorial and Labor Day, when we honor those that sacrificed for our Freedoms and Liberties where we can enjoy the pursuit of Happiness. Labor Day is set aside to honor those that engineered and built those remarkable aircraft, like the F-18 Hornet and F-35 Lightning that we enjoyed watching performing those aerial maneuvers in TOP GUN: Maverick movie.
My Fascination with Aviation started at age 12
I have always been fascinated by aviation ever since I built my first balsa wood model airplane at age 12 that flew powered with a rubber band driven propeller. I have since graduated to and enjoy World War II aircraft like the P-40 Warhawk and P-51 Mustang. Tom Cruise actually flew his P-51 Mustang in the TOP GUN: Maverick Movie that still rates as the top rated fighter aircraft of all times.
Even with the sophisticated avionics and aerodynamics of modern-day aircraft, these World War II vintage aircraft still draw people out to the airshows and museums alike. These magnificent flying machines and the men and women that fly them made the A-2 and G-1 vintage Leather Flight Jacket synonymous with aviation.
