The Rough Riders Chronicles- Yippee-ki-yay: The American Cowboy’s Spirit that Built and Secured the Freedom and Liberties of our Country
Here in Jackson, Mississippi, we are having the Dixie National Rodeo, which is one of the biggest Rodeos east of the Mississippi. The Dixie National Rodeo runs from January 19th thru February 20th of this year (2022). Link here to see concerts: The Dixie National Rodeo Concerts that feature groups like Dylan Scott, Joe Nichols, the Gatlin Brothers, Gary Allan, Neal McCoy, Justin Moore, and The Bellamy Brothers. The Dixie National Rodeo represents the values that built our country, established on hard work, Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.
The Dixie National Rodeo is also that time when Cowgirls and Cowboys are sporting their Cowboy hats, boots, blue jeans, and leather jackets and enjoying the best competition on dirt. This is really the best cowgirls and cowboys across the country, competing and displaying their roping and riding skills.
The Cowboy Hat and Boots with Mustangs and Horses
The Dixie National Rodeo, where cowgirls and cowboys wearing their cowboy hats, boots, blue jeans, and leather jackets, remind us of our roots that connect us to a simple way of life and connect us to each other. We still honor our flag and the Constitution that allows us these freedoms and Liberties it provides us. Some of us still enjoy our mustangs and taking to the open road. We might do it with a few more horses and two wheels than we did centuries ago.
Yippee-ki-yay, The Pursuit of Adventure
When you think of Yippee-ki-yay, you think of Bruce Willis in the movie Die Hard, when Hans Gruber referred to John McClain as the Cowboy John Wayne, but John McClain informed Hans that he favored Roy Rogers, Yippee-ki-yay. Gene Autry sang the song Back in the Saddle Again that included the Yippee-ki-yay phrase.
Back in the Saddle Lyrics with Whoopi-ty-aye-oh:
Whoopi-ty-aye-oh
Rockin’ to and fro
Back in the saddle again
Whoopi-ty-aye-yay
I go my way
Back in the saddle again
Gene Autry also references that he was back in the Saddle riding with his 0.44; my preference is an ACP 45.
I used to fly over 650- flight hours a year performing aerial patrol on our transmission lines, over 4- states. Before we took off in our 206-D Bell Jet Ranger, we used to inform our hangar base- Yippee-ki-yay We’re back in the Saddle again.
But, since I’m retired now at age 64, I saddle up on my INDIAN Scout Bobber V-Twin 60 78- HP engine. Sometimes it is difficult to get the experience of flying out of your system. A motorcycle was the closest thing to flying without wings. This was the reason that World War II Veterans returning home from war rode their motorcycle on the open road as a way to transition back into society and deal with what is now called PTSC (C for Condition it isn’t a disorder).
As Fashionable are our US WINGS® Jackets are, your best fashion is Your Fitness
In the photograph below, I’m 64 years old. This photograph was taken on January 18, 2022 after we did a WINTER Photo shoot for our line of US WINGS® Leather Jacket that I carry in our online store. The camera crew challenged me to an AB Challenge where I’m posing without my shirt. I credit my DELPHI DIET & FITNESS System for my physical condition, and the condition of my skin. I can’t stress enough that a FITNESS Program that is based on Cardio, Aerobics, and Strength Exercise is still your best option to strengthen you immune system.
