At Age 65, I’m all too Familiar with Challenges that both Harrison Ford and Tom Cruise had to Face in their Movies
At age 65, I realize the obstacles that both Harrison Ford, at age 80, and Tom Cruise, at age 57 in 2019, had to face in making these two sequel movies. At age 65, I still model my line of sportswear, shown in the featured image, above. I also ride my Indian Motorcycle, fly, and also produce golf and fitness training videos to maintain an active lifestyle, which is essential to my health and fitness.
These training videos that I produce are done to improve my clients’ Health, Fitness and encourage them to maintain an active lifestyle. These fitness and training videos are in my e-book that is on KINDLE (see attachment at the end of this article).
I too understand and enjoy the benefits of following a healthy Diet and Exercise that has allowed me to have an active age-defying Lifestyle that includes modeling. On Saturday January 07th, 2023, I did an AB Challenge in our hangar at age 65, after our photoshoot for our Rough Riders Sportswear Collection, My AB Challenge is shown below:
The most critical critique that anyone can have of their health and fitness is to step in front of a camera lens for a photoshoot or onto a movie set, as in the case of Harrison Ford and Tom Cruise. The camera accentuates what I call the Good, the Bad, and the Reality of one’s health and fitness. We won’t know the results of Harrison Ford’s performance until June of 2023, but Tom Cruise’s performance was incredible, especially the beach scene, that wasn’t easy for someone over the age of 55- years old to make.
But, in the case of Tom Cruise, in TOP GUN: MAVERICK, the verdict is in, as his performance was stellar from being in the backseat cockpit of the F-18 Super Hornet, pulling at least 6-7 G’s, to doing the beach scene appearing with his cast members that are half his age.
Tom Cruise in TOP GUN: MAVERICK performance was compelling, due in large part to his health, fitness, and conditioning regimen. But the other major part is that Tom Cruise’s performance is that he is a great actor/director who is focused on details. There is no telling how long he will be able to perform at this high-level in these high-action-packed movies, given his diet, exercise, and lifestyle.

I actually liked the second movie a little more than the first TOP GUN Movie, even though TOP GUN: MAVERICK was made 34 years after the first TOP GUN.

At least that was the assessment of the three middle-age ladies sitting just to my right in the theater that they had of Tom Cruise’s performance and his appearance in TOP GUN: MAVERICK Movie. According to their comments, word for word, ‘Damn he’s good looking!’ (He being Tom Cruise).
The diet and exercise are too critical to one’s age-defying lifestyle that even makes what your wearing have that persona with confidence, even in front of a camera. The most unsympathetic critic that you will ever have is posing in front of a camera, because the lens of the camera has no conscience.
The Indiana Jones Outfit is a major part of the Rough Riders Collection
Both Tom Cruise and Harrison Ford are sporting the nostalgic Chino pants/shirt with their Leather Jackets. The Indy-Style Leather Jacket, that we carry and supplied to the movie studio, was heavily influenced by the U.S. Military standard issue A-2 Leather Flight Jacket that we carry.
Tom Cruise is wearing the G-1 Leather Flight Jacket, as well as the CWU-45P Nylon Flight Jacket in his recent movie, and both are U.S. Military standard issue that we also carry. Below, I’m wearing the Flying Tiger G-1 Leather Flight Jacket with the three (3) authentic leather patches and name tag that the Flying Tigers wore.
The Flying Tigers remind me of the group of frontiersmen and cowboys that volunteered under the command of Colonel Theodore Roosevelt’s Rough Riders, during the Spanish-American War of 1898 that charged up San Juan Hill. This is exactly what the Flying Tigers pilots and aviators wore that made up the American Volunteer Group (AVG).
There isn’t a pair of pants, nor a leather jacket on the market that are more recognizable than the khaki Chino pants/shirt with the A-2, G-1, or the Indy-Style Leather Jacket can provide you. Brief History of the Khaki Chino pants/shirt and the U.S. Military A-2 Leather Flight Jacket
In my senior year in high school, 1978, I wrote a research paper on how the khaki Chino pants/shirt and the A-2 Leather Flight Jacket became a part of the Standard U.S. Military issue uniform. This article that I wrote in 1978 could have been written yesterday and have been just as relevant today on what inspired Indiana Jones’ Leather Jacket/khaki Chino pants/shirt that Harrison Ford wore during his cliff-hanging archeological expectations.
This paper that I wrote in high school in 1978 on the Chino pants/shirt that the Rough Riders stormed up San Juan Hill helped to influence The Rough Riders Sportswear Collection that we are proud to offer our clients (men and women alike).
I later took my high school paper and updated it last December, of 2022, on what inspired the Indiana Jones wardrobe, while I was developing The Rough Rider Sportswear Collection. The link below is the updated version of my paper on what inspired the Indiana Jones Leather Jacket, khaki chino pants, and shirt that also includes that famous Fedora hat. The Rough Rider Collection dates back in history to the early 1800’s for the Chino pants and the 1930’s for the A-2 Leather Flight Jacket, just as current today as they were then.
Inspiration for the Indiana Jones Leather Jacket and Chinos
The Word Chino is French for China that described the type of khaki color cotton fabric that was imported from China. The Soldiers that were a part of the Rough Riders commanded by Colonel Theodore Roosevelt during the Spanish-American War of 1898 refer to their khaki pants as ‘Chinos’ and that description of the pants is used even today.
The Rough Riders Sportswear Collection isn’t just for business or casual wear, but for the Outdoors on the job site, as well.

Some of the guys on one of the crews that I had, asked me if I had been frozen for the past 6- years, like in Cryogenics, because they committed that I hadn’t aged, matter of fact, they committed that I had lost weight and lost about 20- years.
