Sit-ups are an important part of a person’s workout for building quads and abdominal muscles. But it is essential to properly perform sit-ups in your normal workout regimen. You’ve undoubtedly heard about bending your knees when performing your sit-ups.

Bending your knees will help avoid back and Sciatic Nerve issues that can be debilitating. As part of my Five-minute Fitness Program, I discuss that keeping your knees extended can cause tension in the lower back that can lead to disc  issues. Just by bending at the knees can alleviate tension in the back, but can actually work the abdominal muscles and quads muscles.

I wrote an article on Herschel Walker about how he went from not being athletic to being a premier athlete and Running Back at Georgia and the NFL. He also boxed and is still in great shape. One of the exercises that he credited for his success is doing sit-ups every day.
