This is a reproduction of the authentic WASP (Women Airforce Service Pilots) A-2 Leather Flight Jacket that your mother, grandmother, or aunt wore serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps flying needed aircraft to the forward based in the Europe and to the Pacific Islands to win the war on two fronts.
First time in seven decades this Women’s Army A-2 Leather Flight Jacket has been reissued to active duty female service personnel and will become a part of the official uniform once again. This Ladies’ A-2 Leather Flight Jacket will be authorized to be worn my newly reissued of the U.S. Military World War II-style service uniform. US WINGS that is an official supplier of the men’s A-2 Leather Flight Jacket will also be one of the supplier to the U.S. Army as part of the authorized uniform.
The Men and Ladies’ A-2 Leather Flight Jacket was issued to the U.S. Military up to 1947 that was worn also by the elite paratroopers of the 82nd and 101st Airborne worn the A-2 Leather Flight Jacket with their insignia as a badge of honor to help identify their unit. The renown Tuskegee Airmen (Red Tails) also wore the A-2 Leather Flight Jacket in their honor service to our country as being the first African-American pilots.
