Golfer’s Analytics A Critical part of the Golfer’s Game Performance, to show the Golfer the Critical Path for training and development
Golfers seem to think that their putting is the most critical part of the golf game. Analytics indicate a different approach has in their golf game to help the golfer lower their scores, handicap, and frustration level.
Actually, the approach shot is the most critical golf shot, because it will determine the length of the putt that the golfer will have to make, once on the green. There is a huge difference in percentages between an 8-foot putt and a 10-foot putt, as indicated by the Analytics below from Professional Golfers.
Analytics from Professional Golfers
The following analytics are from professional golfers’ putting accuracy:
- 99% of putts from within 3 feet
- 69% of 6-foot putts
- 54% of 8-foot putts
- 31% of putts between 10 and 15 feet
Even for professional golfers, just 2 feet farther from the pin (since the pin can be left in the cup now), at 10- feet from 8- feet, drops the golfer’s accuracy from 54% to 31%. With that data, the most important golf shot for the golfer to lower their score, handicap, and frustration level is their approach shot into the green, inside the 8-Foot Drop Zone.
This is the very reason why I made my three YouTube Videos and concentrate 80 percent of my practice and training time around my putting green in my training facility. Just hitting chip and pitch shots gives me the same mechanics and finesse needed to go from Tee-to-Green.

But, I can guarantee the golfer this one thing, that when they steps foot onto the golf course, they will be relying totally on their subconscious mind, their Autopilot. So the golfer’s primary objective is to properly train using their subconscious mind, with Visualization, Feel or finesse, and Reps VFR in the backyard or in a training facility. The golfer will have to create mental like conditions that exists on the golf course.
