For Fathers on Father’s Day, Get Your PSA– In Observance of Father’s Day, Guys if you are over the Age of 40, Schedule your PSA TEST, Best Gift. I realize that September is Prostate Awareness Month; but take this week to have your Physical

Guys, I’m 66, and as always, I have my annual physical each December, but last year, I moved up my physical to September due to an elevated blood pressure reading that I was getting each night (145/89). I was more concerned about a possible elevated cholesterol reading than I was about an elevated PSA reading.

Below was my actual readings from my September 2023 Physical:

Age- 66

Blood Pressure- 145/95 (Normal reading is 115/65)

Blood Glucose- 109 (Non Fasting)

Waistline- 28.50- inches

Weight- 148 Lbs.

BMI- 18.75

PSA- 6.2 (Normal less than 4.0)

I was referred to Dr. Runnels with Jackson Urology Clinic where my third PSA Test was 6.2 in December of 2023. I had a Biopsy later that December, 2023, that indicated that I had Stage 1 Prostate Cancer. The recommended procedure was a Prostatectomy (removal of the Prostate) done in February of 2024. The pathological report of my Prostate showed that I actually had Stage 2 Prostate Cancer.

When I had my follow-up PSA Test, done in March 2024, it was 0.00 which meant that all the cancer was contained to my prostate that was welcome news. I will return this month, June 2024, for a follow-up PSA Test to confirm my March results.

The moral of the Story is Early Detection Guys!

I had No Symptoms of Prostate Cancer

Guys, I had no symptoms of Prostate Cancer except for an elevated blood pressure level! There were no other signs. This Father’s Day PLEASE DO FOUR (4) THINGS for yourself, your Family, and your Friends- (1) Check your blood pressure daily. (2) get your annual physical that includes a PSA Test, if you are 40 or older. (3) Start a fitness program that includes strength training; and (4) Eat a healthy diet  (high in protein, fiber, probiotic, and Omega-3).

THE MELIORA DIET & FITNESS PROGRAM, not only drop weight and inches, but DROP Years off your appearance of your skin.

My Shop Drawing for my Smoker/Grill

I’m ALIVE TODAY, because I had my annual physical that included a PSA TEST that saved my life where I could include another item on my bucket list, WELDING. I became a welder while I was working as a Grid Engineer for my second career when I retired at age 57, after 33-years. On my drawing board, I had drawn shop drawings for a 16- inch Dia. x 30- inch x 110 Lb Smoker/Grill that I intended to weld up in March of 2024.

Complete the welding phase ready to be grinned and wired brushed to receive primer.

Waiting for my High-Temperature O.D. Green paint to arrive to finish my project to season and grill. The Smoker/Grill weighs a 110 Lbs. for heavy duty outdoor cooking.

My Smoker/Grill would have only been shop drawings tucked away in my project files if I didn’t detect my Stage 2 Prostate Cancer early in order for someone else to weld up and enjoy cooking.

Guys and Gals, I started welding on my 110- Lbs Smoker/Grill 2- months after my doctor gave me clearance in April 2024 to work in my shop on heavy projects. The main weight of the Smoker/Grill consisted of the 16- inch diameter x 30- inch x 1/4 inch thick caisson (pipe) that weighed in at 106.8 Lbs. that I was able to man-handle in my shop due to my strength training.

The only way that I’m able at age 66 to man-handle heavy metal is my fitness training in my gym that includes strength training. If you want to be able to defy your age, include strength training in your fitness routine.

A part of my fitness training is bench pressing 50 reps with 90 lbs dumbbells. I’m more interested in reps than I am amount of weight.

After a photoshoot for our line of SPORTY’S WRIGHT BROS. Leather Jackets in November of 2023, my camera crew challenged me to an AB Challenge at age 66. This is proof the THE MELIORA DIET & FITNESS PROGRAM works at dropping weight, inches, and years off the appearance of your skin. The camera crew kind of set me up, I was unaware that a Girl Scout Troop was touring our hangar and aviation museum at the time.

Welding has been a hobby of mine since my early-50’s, that I had plans on becoming my second career when I retired from transmission line work and aviation. With God’s grace and blessings along with looking forward to welding in my shop and working out in my gym, this has allowed me to enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle, even after being diagnosed with Prostate Cancer.

Guys, get your PSA test done, Learn a Trade or Hobby that allows you to work with your mind and hands. Welding is my therapy. I’m also including Gals in with this suggestion of learning a trade. The more active you are with a trade, eating a healthy diet (high in protein, fiber, probiotic, and Omega-3), along with physical and spiritual fitness, you will be more content in your life! Again, Welding is my therapy.

I’m shown here welding reinforcement onto my finishing mower where I can push down brush and small stumps on my farm.

I will have a T-shirt in my ONLINE store SOON that I’m having made up for my welding work that reads-

I DON’T NEED THERAPY; I JUST NEED TO PUT ON MY JACKET, GLOVES, and HOOD, BURN SOME RODS, SMELL FLUX, and ENJOY SOME HEAVY METAL IN THE MORNING!
