DELPHI- Can You Actually Retain Your Youth?– Jane Pauley Hosted CBS Show Forever Young about what measures we can taken to Retain Our Youth

In the featured photograph above, I’m 64 years old and I enjoy just as much of an active lifestyle now that I had at 34. I credit God’s Blessings right off the bat without a doubt and three other components that Jane Pauley covered in her special Forever Young covering DIET, EXERCISE, and LIFESTYLE that are a part of my DELPHI Age-Defying DIET & FITNESS System.

This is my GYM that I built in the attic space over my golf training facility and photography studio. The exercise equipment that you see here is all the equipment that I workout with for 60- minutes, five-times a week. The only thing not shown is my exercise bike.

A person’s age is mostly reflected in the appearance and condition of their skin, especially the skin around their eyes, mouth, and neck areas. The appearance of my skin isn’t because I had a secluded lifestyle and job indoors. But I do credit the condition of my skin to the three areas that were highlighted in Jane Pauley’s program Forever Young, my Diet, Exercise, and my Lifestyle.

This photograph was taken in June 23, of 2015 the month that I retired from Entergy after 33- years of line work and being a Grid Engineer for the Mississippi Grid. I’m the one in the middle of the Double-Steel Channel X-arm

Actually, I spent the majority of my life working in agriculture, bridge construction, and Transmission line work for 45 years, since age 12. Even though I retired in 2015 at age 58, I was called back to transmission line work for storm restoration work. In both 2020 and 2021 at age 63 and 64, I worked Hurricane Laura, Delta, and Ida in southwest Louisiana. I still work on my farm today at age 64 tending cattle and cutting and baling hay.

This is a photograph taken in June of 2019 on my farm.

The DIET Factor

I used my background in Chemical Engineering to help me develop The DELPHI DIET mainly to lose some weight that I gained before I had hip replacement surgery in 2014. My diet is based on three (3) simple principles WHEN and WHAT, and based on a WEIGHT FACTOR of foods that I can eat under a Weight Factor of 3.25. I developed the Health Index to help me evaluate the Nutrition Labels on packages of food in grocery stores and using my I-Phone to pull Nutrition information from Restaurant’s website of their menu items. I keep all my food items at or below a 3.25 Weight Factor. This Weight Factor at or below a 3.25 indicate that these foods are high in Fiber, Protein, Health Fats (Omega-3) and contain a Probiotic.

Nutrition Label off CONAGRA RANCH STYLE BEANS that have a 2.75 HEALTH INDEX Weight Factor Number. Pinto Beans are consider among the group of perfect foods because Pinto Beans are high in Fiber, Protein, Healthy Fats (Omega-3) and are a Probiotic.

The Weight Factor helps me to identify foods that are high in Fiber, Proteins, Probiotics, and the healthy fats, the Omega-3 that aren’t just for weight control and loss, but healthy looking skin.

This is my Waistline Chart that I kept during the 9- months where I lost 52-LBS and 8.75- inches in my waistline.

Above, is my results that I charted of my diet that I started on November 28, 2014 and continuing for nine months until September 05, 2015. I lost 4.75- inches in just a little over one month and a total of 8.75- inches where I’m at NOW within nine (9) months of starting my diet. A true test of a diet is that you can keep the weight off, not that you can lost the weight! The feature photograph above was taken of me on November 09, 2021, after we did our Fall Fashion photo shoot of our US WINGS® Leather Jackets.

This was taken at our farm in October 2021. I’m wear the US WINGS U.S. Military Issued A-2 Leather Flight Jacket that we supply to the U.S. Military.

I let you be the judge if you think my DELPHI Age-Defying DIET & FITNESS worked or NOT!

Exercise Factor

I have following the CASPER Fitness Program that I developed since the age of 12 working with a high school football coach. No doubt, exercising and remaining active played a huge factor in one’s health and fitness, but one’s diet still remains 80 percent of your health and fitness and the condition of your skin.

The CASPER Fitness Program is based on Cardio, Aerobics, Strength, Performance Exercise Regimen. The Cardio part is significant because it is based on Conditioning. My GYM isn’t cooled or heated, during the summertime the Heat Index can reach 120 degrees. Sweating is one of the best thing that you can do for your skin along with exercising.

Exercising can slow down and in some cases even reverse the aging process of the skin by allowing the body to produce what is known as ATP (adenosine 5’-triphosphate) in our muscles. ATP along with collagen helps repair skin, muscles, joints, and connective tissue. In other words, slow down or even reversing the aging process.

So your fountain of youth is actually based on the strength & conditioning of your muscles. This is the reason that Strength & Conditioning plays a larger role in your health and condition of your skin more so than aerobics alone can. If you just concentrate on your aerobics fitness you’re not supporting the health and condition of a youthful looking skin. Strength and Conditioning also helps to tone your body especially in the abdominal area.

There are FIVE (5) areas that are considered a Blue Ribbon fitness program- These are your skin, abdominal muscles, biceps/triceps, gluts, and quads muscles. These are just as important to women as they are to men. Focus more on your Strength & Conditioning than you do your aerobics training.

Also during this time of year, the holiday season, exercises are crucial for those who battle seasonal depression. There are two allies that you have to naturally battle seasonal depression, these are endorphins and dopamine that help boost mood and cognitive function. This is the reason that after working out people feel invigorated and have a better frame of mind.

Lifestyle Factor

You remember the Be the Ball quote from Caddyshack

I’m going to give you a little advice. There’s a force in the universe that makes things happen. And all you have to do is get in touch with it, stop thinking, let things happen, and be the ball.

The force in the universe that makes things happen is your subconscious mind. refer to the two keys phrases get in touch with it, and stop thinking.

The way to connect with this tremendous force that we all have is to use our five senses (our vision, hearing, smell, touch, and taste). If you want to develop a healthy Lifestyle focus on heightening your five senses to help develop your sixth sense, our mental vision, or perception, of getting in touch with our memory.

Here is why it is important to focus on using our five senses to help us develop our sixth sense of mental vision and perception.

Research Done on Perception of Our Subconscious Minds

Research was conducted on what affects perception and how we age. There were two groups (A and B) of people over the age of 70. Both groups were tested for their cognitive function, strength, and stamina before the research started to establish a benchmark. John Tesh also discussed this on his radio show, Intelligence for Your Life. on November 26th, 2021.

Group A was placed in an environment where they experienced a similar lifestyle that they had during their childhood years where they were in a house with furniture, architecture, radios and black and white television shows, with food of that era, of the 50’s and early 60’s.

Group B lived in a lifestyle that was of the current era with modern-day furniture, architecture, radios and television shows, with food of the current era. Things that they were accustomed to and being a part of their daily lives.

After six weeks both groups were retested for their cognitive function, strength, and stamina. Group B had no significant change in their cognitive function, strength, and stamina. But, Group A had a significant increase in their cognitive function, strength, and stamina.

The increase in Group A’s cognitive function, strength, and stamina was due their ability to recreate and reconnect with their memories of how they perceived their childhood lives. Our memories reside in our subconscious minds, same part of our minds where we dream. This improvement of Group A was based on how their subconscious mind responds to memories and perception that they experienced.

How our Subconscious mind responds to Perception:

First– The subconscious mind does not differentiate between visualizations, or perception, and actual situations. If you go see a high action movie you can’t help to become part of that action in some manner or form. This means Group A perceive themselves as having cognitive function, strength, and stamina of their childhood.

Second– Perception, suggestions, and belief can be used to “program” the subconscious mind.

Veterans especially deal with this type situation, but from the other direction, when they experience episodes of PTSC (Post Thematic Stress Condition) that are usually triggered by one or more of their five senses (what they see, hear, feel, smell or even taste).

My Personal Perception during the Holidays

I personally take time during the holidays between Thanksgiving and New Years to connect with my childhood memories by setting down and actually watching programs that were produced in the 60’s, Johnny Quest, all 26- episodes. I also watch the movie Scent of a Woman, because Lieutenant Colonel Frank Slade, played by Al Pacino, reminds me of my uncle, a Colonel that served in the U.S. Army that saw action in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.

This visualization allows me to reconnect with my childhood and with some pleasant memories that I had that boost my wellbeing and mindfulness.

So this holiday season:

  • Start a healthy DIET.
  • Start an Exercise regimen that includes Cardio, Aerobics, and Strength Performance & Conditioning.
  • Become mindfulness of your memories and take some time out to enjoy these childhood memories.
