Your Twin Turbocharger for Health & Fitness– How to Turn Your Body/Fitness into a Twin Turbocharger to Drop Your Weight, Inches, and Years
If you want a Twin-action turbocharger to lose weight and get into better shape, especially since these are two of the top New Year’s Resolutions. The two turbocharger engines we all have are our diet and fitness program that turns your body into a turbocharged calorie-burning juggernaut. This allows your body to naturally function the way God intended it to.
The human body and mind are two of the most sophisticated creations in the entire universe and if we provide it with the right diet and fitness regimen, our body’s not only can perform at the highest level, but for well into our 90’s and beyond.
How to Fuel Your Body for LIFE
The best piece of advice that my grandfather and uncle gave me was the importance of diet and fitness. My uncle served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam Wars with the 101st Airborne and his fitness that he provided me is the same exercise regimen that I still use still to this day.
I started exercising at age 12 that included Cardio-Aerobics and Strength Training Exercises that I have continued except for injuries and illnesses. Age 12 is a good age to introduce your kids to exercises that include light strength training using elastic tubing that makes it safe for them to use.
Up until then, I would emphasize kids participating in just sports, either organized or just for recreational sports. Sports develop character, coordination, balance, perseverance, and the most important, Sportsmanship. These attributes will serve your kids with a success platform for lifetime.
Prepare for Your 30’s and 40’s and Beyond
Our bodies start to slow down if we don’t maintain an active lifestyle. By the late 30’s to early 40’s, I started gaining weight even with my exercising. By my mid 50’s right before I retired at 57, I had to figure out a new approach for my body to burn the fat off and get into shape for what I was getting ready to do next as my second career. What I was doing wasn’t working very well.
My first step was to try to eat my meals between 9-to-5 like I did in my early 30’s when I was building homes and in great shape. But what I didn’t do was eat the diet that I had in my early 30’s. I was eating a high fiber, high protein diet that contained omega-3 fats, the healthy fats that we all need. During the first three weeks of November of 2014, I experienced minimal weight loss.
So I went back and started evaluating what I ate in my mid 30’s when I had a 29- inch waist line. So I started looking at Nutrition Labels for those foods that I ate then. With my chemical engineering background, I was able to use analytics to develop a Health Index (HI) factor. This Health Index factor allowed me to look at seven elements on Nutrition Labels to determine foods I could eat and lose weight.
What Became The DELPHI DIET & FITNESS System
On November 28th, 2014, I started applying the Health Index factor to evaluate all my meals that I had between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. My objective was to keep all my meal items at or below a HI of 3.25 factor. That same day, November 28th, I measured my waist at 37.75-inches. The problem was my recommended waistline should be at or below 33- inches.
So what is a recommended healthy waistline for people? Take your height in inches and divide by 2.0. So my recommended healthy waistline is 66/2.0= 33- inch waistline. For reference, every inch in the waistline lost represents approximately 8.25 Lbs dropped.
The HI factor allowed me to turbocharge my body’s ability to burn calories and fat where I reached my recommended healthy waistline by December 31, 2014, just 32- days. I lost 39 Lbs. in just four short weeks. I would like to point out that this was right during the Holiday Season that I started my DELPHI DIET & FITNESS System.
I didn’t stop there, I lost down to a 29.50- inch waistline, where I’m at now, by July 30, 2015, the day I retired from transmission line work. The weight I lost allowed me not just to produce exercise videos and golf training videos, but I was also able to model my line of sportswear that I carry in my online store, THE QATSPY®.
The Twin Turbocharger of DIET & FITNESS
The DELPHI DIET represented 80 percent of me being able to get into shape, the other 20 percent was my exercise component. Your exercise also has to be turbocharged to be effective, this is the other twin turbine engine in your health and fitness program.
Turbocharged fitness means that you elevate your heart rate to a Target Heart Rate during your exercise regimen to receive the full benefit of exercising. Taking a leisure ride on your bicycle or walk isn’t going to give you the burn you need to get into shape.
A good Target Heart Rate is to first figure your Optimum Heart Rate by taking your age and subtracting it from 220. Your Target Heart Rate should be 80 percent of that rate or (220-age) x 0.80= THR
I have three stage level for my Heart Rates during my workout that I use for my routine workouts:
Stage No. 1 Warm Up= (220-age) x 0.75
Stage No. 2 Peak Performance= (220-age) x 0.85
Stage No. 3 Cool-Down= (220-age) x 0.80
For Example my three stage THR (NOTE: This usually takes place during my Cardio-Aerobic Workout)
Warm-Up= (220-64) x 0.75 = 117 bpm (Strength Training and start of Cardio)
Peak Performance = (220-64) x 0.85 = 133 bpm (Cardio)
Cool Down = (220-64) x 0.80 = 125 bpm (Cardio)
The best means to reach your Peak Performance heart rate is during your Cardio/Aerobic Workout. I start out with my yoga followed by strength training where I can reach my Warm up heart rate. But in my case, it isn’t until I get on my exercise bicycle (cardio-aerobic training) when I can get my heart rate up to about 141 – 145 bpm.
This is when your body can actually burn calories at an efficient rate for about 20- minutes. The DELPHI DIET & FITNESS System is the Twin Turbocharger for my Health & Fitness at age 64, soon to be 65, as shown in the image above and below. In the image above, is all the exercise equipment that I use for working out for 45- minutes, 6 times a week. My Home GYM isn’t heated or cool, so during the summer months I gain a conditioning component that really is a great for my fitness and stamina builder. This sweating that I do, especially during the warmer months is my fountain of youth.
