Your Biggest Room for Improvement in Life– If there is ONE Thing we Learned Yesterday it’s that We Can’t Count on Government to Keep us Safe
There’s a tremendous amount of rhetoric that people will promise you to win your trust and confidence; the grim reality is that only about 10 percent of what you hear or read is legitimate that you can hang your leather jacket on. The other 90 percent is empty promises that people can’t even come close to delivering on to protect or to improve our lives.
Such was the case yesterday when our U.S. Authorities in this administration finally admitted that they didn’t even have a plan that they could offer to fight this pandemic. Their only excuse was that they were caught flat footed. Flat footed is a term used in boxing where a boxer doesn’t transfer their weight to either deliver or avoid a blow. I would like to inform this administration that boxing isn’t for the faint of hearts and we are in a fight for our very lives and excuses and hope don’t win battles!
Regardless of your party affiliations, you should be totally frustrated with some one telling you that they don’t have a plan when 12-months ago that they had and promise a plan!
Like the Apostle Paul stated in 1st Corinthians 9:26 Therefore I run in such a way as not to run aimlessly; I box in such a way, as to avoid just hitting air;
So, What is the Biggest Room for Improvement?
The Answer is- The biggest room for improvement in our life is a part of the top two New Year Resolutions- Losing weight and Getting into better shape. These two Resolutions are natural health boosters that we should be focused on instead of only what our authorities are suggesting. You only have to look at the top five (5) categories below for the causes of hospitalizations/deaths from COVID to understand this. Looking at these top five (5) causes of hospitalizations/deaths from COVID, this underscores how important our health/fitness plays is our ability to avoid the consequences of COVID.
- 27% Hypertension
- 18% Diabetes
- 12% Cardiac disease
- 11% Neurological
- 09% Obesity
NOTE: Your Health and Fitness doesn’t mean that you can’t contract COVID, but it does mean we have a better chance of recovering without long-term consequences from COVID.
What is frustrating is how little attention is being paid toward a healthy diet, fitness, and therapies that would provide us with the best opportunity of surviving COVID than focusing on vaccines only. We need to give our body’s the ability to defend itself. Strong muscles provide our body’s with stronger and more resilient immune systems. That is a FACT!
If you want a booster for your overall health and fitness, just set up your own home GYM with just basic exercise equipment at first. You can start off with simple dumbbells, elastic tubing, and an ab roller for starters. Then as you get into better shape and conditioning you can add various other exercise equipment. In the featured image above, I’m shown in my Home GYM that I renovated in February of 2019 that was the attic space above my golf training facility and photography studio.
WHY an Ab Roller you might ask– Due to my line work that included working line work, flying fixed and rotor wing aircraft, I developed a sciatic nerve issue with numbness and tight muscles in my back, down my legs, and into my feet. The AB Roller is the only exercise/therapy that actually relieve these symptoms. TRY IT, YOU’LL LIKE IT.
By the way, the equipment that I have labeled in my Home GYM photograph above is all the equipment that I’m using NOW during my 60- minute workout sessions, 5-times a week. This proves that you don’t have to have heavy, elaborate, or expensive exercise equipment to be in good shape even at the age of 64.
A lot of exercise programs focus on aerobics, but your best avenue for getting into better fitness and shape is strength training. I’m glad that Peloton® finally got the message and started including strength training with aerobics/cardio training.
Not only are stronger muscles responsible for strengthening your immune system, but also stronger muscles improves the condition of your skin. Muscles provide collagen for a healthier, younger looking, and firmer skin tone. I don’t know too many people, especially over the age of 40, that wouldn’t want younger looking and have firmer skin tone.
I’m for one who believes that the majority of what people promises can’t stand up to the test of time. I believe that seeing is believing; and in the photograph below, I’m 64 years old, soon to be 65. A picture is really worth a thousand words. Some of my readers might ask why I stress Health, Diet, and Fitness so much, will it is simple- Your life depends on it. I have a friend that asked me why I workout so much in my gym, in the past two years I believe that they got their answer.
