My New book on Kindle, The Sayeret Matkal an Elite IDF Unit

By: Charles W. Boatright

The Sayeret Matkal Elite Military Unit– My NEW BOOK is a collection of Black Ops carried out by one of the most specialized commando units. This IDF unit was created in 1957 that was the forerunner on the U.S. Navy SEALS that was established in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy

One of the most recognizable missions carried out by this special unit, the Sayeret Matkal, was the July 04th, 1976 Raid on Entebbe. The Intel was so detailed that the unit flew in with a Mercedes-Benz 600 that matched Idi Amin’s vehicle, the dictator of Uganda. The mission was so successful it was world major news that day the U.S. was celebrating our Independence.

This mission was a huge success, except for two casualties. Lt. Col. Yonatan Netanyahu, brother of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was KIA and 74- year old lady, Dora Bloch, recovered from the hospital.

During my military service I had the pleasure of hearing after action reports from two of the officers that I knew that served with the Sayeret Matkal Unit. In the book, I used alias names for my two friends.

The first after action report started in Mogadishu, Somalia on what started out as U.S. humanitarian mission, Operation Restore Hope that later turn into an operation carried out by Rangers and Delta Forces to apprehend Mohamed Farrah Aidid in Operation Gothic Serpent. This was turned into a movie based on the book by the same title, Black Hawk Down, written by Journalist, Mark Bowden.

A Dear High School Friend

My dear high school friend that was KIA in Operation Gothic Serpent that was a pilot on one of the Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawks that I am dedicating this book to. The Rangers and Delta Forces demonstrated some of the bravest feats under intense fire not just entering an urban hot zone once; where every civilian from 8 to 78 carried either an AK-47 or a RPG.

Our brave Rangers and the Delta Force didn’t just ingress and egress once into this urban hot zone; but did it twice to retrieve their dead and wounded comrades by running what became known as the Mog Mile into a hail of lead and RPG’s.

I encourage you to purchase the E-Book or paperback book to see how these shadow warriors carried out some of the most daring missions to gather Intel and help to support the IDF, as well as, NAVY SEALS, and other U.S. Military operations in the Middle-East.

Thanks, this book is on Kindle:

I enlisted with my high school friend into the U.S. ARMY during our senior year of high school. He went into the 160th Night Stalkers with Rangers and became a Black Hawk pilot. While I entered the 326th Combat Engineers attached to the 101st Airborne Division.
