Our Rights granted by The Bill-Rights are Rights and aren’t Privileges by Our Government, and aren’t Subject to Suspension by Presidents, Governors, Mayors
I don’t recall reading in the Bill of Rights where our rights were guaranteed until we had a Pandemic.
There have been countless Americans who have sacrificed everything, even before The Declaration of Independence was signed and our Constitution that included our Bill of Rights was even drafted. These documents were written in pen and ink, but were secured in sweat and blood of both men and women of all backgrounds who believed these documents were more than just words, but the very idea of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
And among the greatest idea was that We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,
Unalienable means rights that can’t be taken away or denied.
I had the privilege of knowing friends and relatives of The Greatest Generation who served in the Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, or Merchant Marines. The U.S. Air Force wasn’t established until September of 1947, it was referred to as the U.S. Army Air Corps. I have included the story of another of my uncles and my Boy Scout Leader just to share their story since they are no longer here to tell their story. I call The Greatest Generation the Excaliburs, not because of the metal they were made of, but how their metal was tested and proven with what they experienced in winning the freedom for the entire World. The only way I got my uncle’s story, with the 101st Airborne, was at the movie, Saving Private Ryan. Setting next to me, he actually sweated and trembled uncontrollably during the scene at Ramelle with the German Tiger Tank encounter.
I don’t think that my uncle and Boy Scout leader served, and many paid the ultimate sacrifice to have defended just parts of the Bill of Rights and under certain conditions. I would think that The First Amendment that gave the Governor of New Jersey, Governor Phil Murphy, the right to say that, “I didn’t have The Bill of Rights in mind when I issued the order denying Churches the right to worship in a safe manner.” And that Gov. Murphy also stated “The Bill of Rights was above his pay grade.” Also required him to guarantee Americans the right to worship and defend themselves.
The Bill of Right gives you the right to be ignorant, but it also requires government the obligation to defend those rights under the Bill of Rights.
Keep in mind that the Founders included a key word in the Declaration of Independence, Unalienable means rights, those are rights that can’t be taken away or denied.
I would imagine that Governor Phil Murphy has legal counsel on his staff that has past the Bar and some just might be actually Constitutional Attorneys, just by chance. Governor Murphy has the right to say what he did under “The Bill of Rights was above his pay grade.” But he doesn’t have the right to deny Americans their right to worship in a safe manner that is included in the First Amendment and especially the Second Amendment listed below as they are written:
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Amendment II
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
The uncle that I was relaying his story to you, the reader, became an attorney and judge, and as part of my summer studies visiting him, I was required to study the U.S. Constitution and The Bill of Rights that I later developed a love for American History.
