Two chapters in my recently released book, The Sayeret Warriors of Rephaim, I describe how one of Israeli’s elite military units that was involved in the Raid on Entebbe back on July 4th, 1976, helped with intel on attacks in Iran that started last week. The Sayeret unit will more than likely be involved in neutralize the Iranian Fordo nuclear fuel enrichment facility due to its in-earth depth, of an half kilometer below the surface of the earth.

In Chapters 20 and 21, I described how two Lieutenant Colonels with the Sayeret Special Military unit working with the intelligence agency, Mossad, that were in country of Iran gathering intel that is described in chapter 20, entitled The HALO Jump Mission, where these two officers join a SEAL Team Six to put boots on the ground in Iran to gather intel for a future aerial and ground mission being performed now.

Then in chapter 21, entitled The Rivera rendezvous, these same two Sayeret officers met with an Iranian underground intelligence agent in France to collect detail information on the Iranian military command and control structure, personnel and their locations and schedule of each target for future elimination.

Shown here Lieutenants Colonel Yigael Rosenstraus center, his wife on the left, and the Iranian intel agent.

What is playing out in Iran now with such precise drone and missile targeting strikes was based on intel gathered by a joint mission between Mossad and this Israeli’s elite military unit referred to as Sayeret.

The work of the Sayeret also helped in the taking out of Qasem Soleimani back in January of 2020 at the Iraq Airport with a non-explosive-type Hellfire R9X missile referred to as Flying Ginsu, because it contained three blades fired from a MQ-9 Reaper drone, that hit the rooftop of the vehicle that Qasem Soleimani had just got in hitting the vehicle with pinpoint accuracy. Because the R9X missile contained blades only the missile depended on its impact instead of explosives. The damage was confined to the vehicle and more than likely damage to the tarmac only.
