Read an intriguing book that you will find hard to put down on events that you saw unfold on news and in movies from the personal perspective of two military officers.
This book, The Sayeret Warrior of Rephaim, is based on 2- fictional characters, Lt. Colonel Sotenberg and Rosenstraus that looked like they had just stepped out of central casting for one of Ian Fleming James Bond, 007, movie series. They were both trained in Krav Maga combat tactics, military strategies, trained in gathering military intelligence, and spoke five different languages.
Sayeret (Hebrew: סיירת, pl.: sayarot) Matkal is the most elite Israeli Special Forces unit in the world formed in 1957. One of its most notable missions was The Raid on Entebbe in July of 1976. This was where the present Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s brother, Lieutenant Colonel Yonatan Netanyahu, was KIA during this rescue mission to free hostages that were abducted on a flight from Israel to France. The hijackers were Palestinian militant group that diverted the flight to Uganda International Airport.
The accounts in this book are set against historical events that took place starting in October of 1993 in Mogadishu, Somalia in 1993 to a future 2026 mission. Sayeret Matkal primary assignments are to gather intelligence on various terrorist groups in North Africa and the Middle-East and to assist military operations and provide intelligence to the U.S. The book starts with the U.S. Operation Restore Hope that started out as a humanitarian operation to insure food distribution to the Somalian people to prevent being captured by warlords, like Mohammad Farrah Aidid.
This book ends with these two Israeli officers meeting an Iranian underground freedom fighters in the French Riviera in Nice to pick up classified documents on the Iranian Regime Structure to assist the people of Iran the ability to remove and returning the Iranian Government back to its people and eliminate Iran as being a terrorist state that finance terror in the Mid-East and North Africa.
