These are Marble Markers that mark the resting place of our fallen heroes that we set aside Memorial Day to Honor.

Memorial Day: Those that Gave Their Full Measure– How Can We Honor the Names on Stone Markers and the Names placed on Walls where we Walk?   

We set aside one day, Memorial Day, to Honor those that Loved their Country by believing in the founding principles of our Country- We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

The names of these men and women on stone markers and on walls where we walk represents the blood, sweat, tears, and sacrifice that they made. Whether that sacrifice was on the battlefield, on and under the seas, vastness the skies and space, or on the floor of factories across our country. These men and women sacrifice in a HOPE for a better future for all of us that walk now in their foot steps.

These men and women with the grace of their perseverance with the richness of their future and dreams put themselves in harm’s way so that we can enjoy the Freedoms and Liberties we all have and enjoy today. There is NO GREATER LOVE then one to offer and sacrifice all of their tomorrows for our today and our hope for a better tomorrow.

SO How can WE Honor Their Sacrifice of Blood, Sweat, and Tears?

The only way to equal their LOVE for our country that I know of in order to honor their full measure that they sacrificed is to LOVE your neighbor as you do yourself. Here’s WHAT WE KNOWN about LOVE:

·         LOVE is patient, it is kind, and does not envy, boast, or is it proud.

·         LOVE does not dishonor but respects others.

·         LOVE is not easily angered and it doesn’t keep a record of wrongs.

·         LOVE does not pursue evil intentions but serves the needs of others.

·         LOVE pursues TRUTH!

·         LOVE protects and trust others in order to preserves HOPE!

I just shared what these men and women sacrifice in order that we might have and share the same love with our neighbor. There is one other attribute that these men and women had- the Quiet Strength of their convictions and confidence that what they were doing would in some measure make our World a better place to live.

I refer to Isaiah as the William Shakespeare of the Bible in how eloquent he wrote the Words inspired by our Creator in Isaiah 30:15- In quietness and confidence shall be your strength. Please find your Strength and Confidence this Memorial Day in LOVE that these men and women proved and sacrificed for us. That is how WE can honor them, their names, and their sacrifice today and tomorrow.
