BLM Riots during the Summer of 2020 that WAPT-16 Stated that was Protest
I was under the impression that WAPT-16 News (an ABC Affiliate here in Jackson, MS) offered unbiased, FAIR & BALANCE Journalism to its listeners. This was up until this past weekend on Sunday night’s broadcast. We are celebrating Memorial Day, where men and women sacrifice their last full measure for our Rights and Freedoms, one being having a FREE PRESS. Free from Governmental influences and bias reporting.
Sunday night (May 26, 2024) at 10 O’clock, I toned into WAPT-16 News for their news, that I discovered Sunday was anything but unbiased or FAIR & BALANCE. Scott Simmons, WAPT Weekend News Anchor, mentioned that following George Floyd death was protest across the country, you saw the news reels as I did.
But that wasn’t what we witnessed played out on the streets of these Blue Cities that weren’t protest, but what could only be described as riots supported by the Democratic Party. Where police forces were told to stand down by Democratic Mayors in protection of their citizens!
These riots adversely impacted citizens in these Blue cities but also destroyed black owned businesses. These were not just riots, but an opportunity for people to loot and burn down these businesses that owners of these business worked a life time to build.
Scott Simmons took liberties with describing these as protest, but were riots, especially where in Washington DC, rioters destroyed and set fire to the Saint John’s Episcopal Church on May 31, 2020. This was under the heavy influence of Black Lives Matter (BLM). The DC Mayor took no action to prevent these riots in her city of Washington, DC.

Our Press have the perception that speakers are making their presentations before totally enthusiastic supporting crowds that are in full agreement with that candidate. This is understandable since this is how Democrats and their Mainstream Media function normally. If a candidate wants to make inroads into all aspects of our society, then they will have to appear before crowds that don’t share all of a candidate’s positions. But this is what dialog is meant for.
But, if I’m to understand the platform of Liberians Party :
Believe that people have sovereignty over their own lives and not to sacrifice their own values for the benefit of others.
Don’t support the establishment of a religion; nor do they believe in restricting a person’s religious belief.
Supports individuals rights to enjoy peace and prosperity, which I totally agree with all of these.
Believe in the ability for people to follow their own dreams and aspirations, that is KEY to a prosperous nation.

(1) The right to life — accordingly we support the prohibition of the initiation of physical force against others.
(2) The right to liberty of speech and action — accordingly we oppose all attempts by government to abridge the freedom of speech and press, as well as, government censorship in any form.
(3) The right to property — accordingly we oppose all government interference with private property, such as confiscation, nationalization, and eminent domain, and support the prohibition of robbery, trespass, fraud, and misrepresentation.
I would take one exception, and that is with eminent domain, one of American’s strongest economic benefit is her transportation system and electrical grid that is a vital part of Instate Commerce.
I have a fourth (4th) point that is brought out on their website, that I also totally believe and is a main part of President Trump’s Administration, that our defense (military force) should ONLY be used in self-defense of our country. We are talking about our most valued treasure, our young men and women in uniform.
Another issue brought out on the Liberian website is subsidizing of energy, but letting private companies explore viable forms of reliable energy with competition that has driven the prosperity for our nation and its security for more than 245 years.
Now, If you examine this with Trump’s Administration you would 85% match with the following assessment:
■ Use Peace through Strength to avoid Wars that was the policy of President Regan Policy!
■ An economy that was prosperous.
■ Low regulations especially from an overreaching EPA that institute regulation via Fiat.
■ Low taxes.
■ Safety with low crime, especially in Blue Cities.
■ No weaponization of the Justice Department, that is a big civil right issue.
■ Low inflation, 1.4%. Inflation is another tax on people. Not the 9% that the Dems have caused.
■ Free opportunity for businesses to flourish without burdensome regulation that only adds to inflation that is essentially a tax.
■ School Choice, huge issues, that is a must if we have any chance competing in the World’s economy.
You view this with the present Democrats Administration; and you will find The Tell of Two Cities, to quote a Charles Dickens title.
If I was a Liberian, I discover that 85% of my philosophy compared to President Donald J. Trump’s four year record of results with less than (to borrow another title from Charles Dickens) Great Expectations that we have had in the last four (4) years under Democrats.
The Junk Journalism wants to gloss over specifics that don’t fit to their narratives to support their alliance with the political Party that they support and have an unholy alliance with for over 40- years.
Another deception by our Junk Journalist, is that the Democratic Bill on border security was the only bill to be considered by Congress, that’s totally Untrue. In actuality, there lies on the desk of one Chuck Schumer, the Border Bill, HR-2, that was passed by the House on May 02nd, 2023. This is disingenuous on the part of our Junk Journalists operating under the disguise of a Free Press. This was another statement made by our Mainstream Media.
Once a Media outlet compromises their credibility, I can’t any longer place my confidence in what they publish or broadcast. Such is a case with WAPT-16 News.
Going back to what this day means, that men and women sacrificed their last full measure, for us to have a FREE PRESS that has Integrity and Credibility FREE from Political influences. WE the PEOPLE DON’T HAVE THIS presently!
