Icing Down Your Age & Tone Up Your Skin– Age-Defying Skin Depends on Eating a Healthy Diet, Working Out, by Icing Down after Working Out
Great way to put your age on ice and even to reverse your aging process and to be able to model at age 65!
After four knee surgeries and a hip replacement in my mid-50’s, I was able to get back into the gym and back on my diet to where I could get back into shape to start modeling my sportswear by the age 57. I was retiring in June of 2015 at age 57 from a Transmission Line Utility Company, to start my sportswear and performance business where we carry the authentic A-2 and G-1 Leather Flight Jackets that are supplied to the U.S. Military.
The only problem was that I was 45- pounds overweight and had a 37.75-inch waistline, at 5-foot 6- inches, that was a problem. That was a significant obstacle that I needed to address before I started modeling and doing fitness training videos that are a part of my performance business on my website. Not only was my weight and waistline over what is considered healthy, but my other three numbers were high as well.
A health waistline is based on taking your height in inches and dividing by 2. For example my recommended waistline should be 66.0 / 2 = 33.0- inches. Because I was modeling, I needed to be below that down to at least 31.0- inches. That was losing an additional 2.0- inches.
I needed to get into shape for other important reasons than just to model my sportswear collection, as I needed to turn in better numbers with my blood pressure, blood glucose, and total cholesterol readings. I would hate to think that I worked hard for 36- years doing heavy construction work, doing what I had to do, just to retire and not be able to enjoy my retirement in doing what I want to do. That is the sheer definition of insanity.
Getting Back on my DELPHI DIET & FITNESS System
After recovering from hip replacement surgery, I was able to get back on my DELPHI DIET & FITNESS System that I was able to follow through my mid-30’s. Within 13- weeks, after starting on November 28, 2014 back on my DELPHI DIET & FITNESS, I was able to drop 42- pounds and 6-inches in my waistline. I could had started modeling in March of 2015 with a waistline of 31.50- inches. I achieved what I thought would take 5- months, in just 13- weeks. By June of 2015, I had a waistline of 30.875- inches and dropped 48- pounds as well as all my health numbers.
I also dropped something else that was totally unexpected, as I dropped about 30- years off the age of my skin to have skin that I had in my mid-30’s at age 65. That was a huge plus to have 30- year old skin at age 65. This provided a significant benefit if you are in front of the camera lens.
Icing is Usually Associated with Hockey, but it is Important to Your Health
Icing is a term used in Hockey in regards to shooting a puck across the red line. But Icing is a great method to firm and tone up your body and skin. Your body has two types of fat cells, the white and brown fat cells. The white fat cells are what cause obesity and over weight, and especially the fat around the waistline and neckline.
With Icing, your are recruiting Brown Fat Cells from White Fat Cells that is a great treatment for obesity, also. The Brown Fat Cells are packed with iron-mitochondria, which is how these fat cells get their color. You can recruit White Fat Cells to change to Brown Fat Cells through cool treatments just once a day for 30- minutes.
Mitochondria is oxidative phosphorylation, which is the ability to use our food that we eat as energy during the oxidation of the food. We want to use our food as energy rather than storing it as fat. This is based on The DELPHI DIET on WHAT you eat (a Health Index at of below a 3.25) and WHEN you eat (between 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
So why is recruiting White Cells into Brown Fat Cells important to your health? Brown Fat Cells can reduce a person’s weight issues and can even treat Diabetes. Reducing your weight improves your blood pressure, blood glucose, and total cholesterol numbers.
There isn’t enough research to determine if exercises alone can help the recruiting process of White Fat Cells into Brown Fat Cells to reduce your weight issues, but icing helps the recruiting process. You want to either take cold baths (water temperature of 61 degrees Fahrenheit), showers, or what I also do is use an ice packs. If you use an ice pack place a towel between the ice pack and your skin to prevent burning of your skin. If you do this before bedtime, it helps you sleep better because your core temperature is reduced slightly.
At age 65, I’ve been able to firm up my abdominal area, which is a very difficult area to tone and firm up without icing over the age of 50. Also, icing is great method to tighten your facial skin by restricting blood vessels that also reduces skin pores, wrinkles, and bags under the eyes. So ice offers more benefits than just soothing sore muscles after a workout or training session. I take cold showers after my daily workout session to rinse off my sweat and close up my skin pours and tone up my skin.
