We live in a society that vilifies Masculinity that is essential for men to have in order to be a benefit in their family, jobs, and society and have a satisfying and fulfilled lifestyle.
The Fox & Friends Weekend Show host, Rachael Campos-Duffy, highlighted a great segment on Men’s Masculinity, Health & Fitness this morning (Sat 05Apr2025) where she interviewed two gentlemen with TRAIN HARD CLUB.
Guys look at the website of TRAIN HARD CLUB. I can’t emphasize the importance of men’s health and fitness and masculinity in allowing men to be better men, husbands, and fathers. Remember WHAT BENEFITS THE HEART ALSO BENEFITS THE MIND and SOUL. That goes for women also.
Apostle Paul on Physical Training
Even the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 9: (25) Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. (26) Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air, but with purpose. (27) No, I discipline my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
The Benefits of MACS-X Fitness at age 68
I can’t even begin to list the benefits of what MACS-X fitness has done for me at age 68 even after having four knee surgeries and hip replacement while in the U.S. Military jumping. I also had a section of my intestines removed, and lately overcoming Stage 2 Prostate Cancer that I’m now clear of.
Of all that, Prostate Cancer was the worst, because of how it changes your life and the amount of work it took for me to rehab and overcome my cancer. Cancer changes your entire body from what you had. (Guys get your PSA Test). You will be surprised by the benefits of all those tiny muscles that we take for granted that we depend on in our life, just the simple things.
But if it wasn’t for my fitness training, I wouldn’t have the opportunity to rehab and recover at the rate that I did to return to as close to what I had in my mid-30’s now at age 68. After Prostate Cancer, I had to work what we in the U.S. ARMY call Double Time.
Think of Your Fitness Training as a Health Savings Account
Think of your fitness workouts as deposits that you are making into a health savings account that earns your 600% return on time and money. When you have medical issues you have a health savings account that you can draw from to rebound and get back to enjoying your health and lifestyle. But Guys & Gals, DO NOT forget your Strength Training and just concentrate on Aerobic and Cardio and training.
Why Strength Training is that Wonderful Elixir for Age-Defying Lifestyle
Here why Strength Training is so important that no other age-defying elixir or ointment can render you; like in Jimmy Buffet song Margaritaville– That frozen concoction that helps me hang on. But in this case it is your strength training that stimulates the pituitary gland that in turns stimulates the muscles that release fibroblast cells that supplies collagen to your muscles, joints, and especially to your skin to replace and rejuvenate the dermal skin cells at night while SLEEPING.
Exercise delivers nutrients, like vitamins and oxygen, to skin cells, helping them repair and multiply. Specifically, these nutrients feed the fibroblast cells in your skin that produce collagen.
Exercise reduces stress, which prevents skin damage and aging. Stress decreases collagen and Hyaluronic acid production and causes existing collagen fibers to break down. Exercise decreases stress, which increases oxytocin and lowers cortisol—key hormones that affect skin aging. The result is fewer wrinkles, tighter skin, and less acne.
Exercise—specifically heavy lifting—releases a growth hormone produced by the pituitary gland, which stimulates your fibroblast cells, resulting in collagen production.
Whatever you do with this information, DO NOT FORGET THIS- Don’t eat past 6 p.m. because eating late interferes with your body’s ability to replace, repair, and rejuvenate your body and especially your skin. (1) Cobra Pose, (2) Lung Poses, (3) Plank Pose, (4) Downward Dog Pose, (5) Warrior Pose 1, (6) Warrior Poses 3, (7) Rotation Leg Pose, (8) Low Boat Pose.
Strength Training
2 sets of 15 Bench Presses (using dumbbells 10 – 50 Lbs)
2 sets of 15 Shoulder Presses
2 sets of 15 Shoulder raises
2 sets of 15 Seated Rowing (Elastic Tubing 20 – 90 Lbs Resistance)
2 sets of 15 Bend-over Rowing (dumbbells)
2 sets of 15 Triceps Extensions (dumbbells 10 -20 Lbs) Use Caution
2 sets of 15 Biceps Curls
2 sets of 15 Weighted Squats (using dumbbells 10 – 50 Lbs)
2 sets of 15 Stocking the Shelves Lunges (using dumbbells 10 – 20 Lbs) ES
2 sets of 15 Calf Raise (using dumbbells 10 – 35 Lbs)
NOTE: M in MACS-X stands for Minute by Minute element if you do 2 sets of 15 reps that is a minute; Have a 20- second rest period between sets in the Strength Training elements.
Aerobic-Cardio Training
3 sets of Ab Crunches (Quarter or less Raises ONLY DO NOT go over a Quarter)
4 Kick Boxing 2-minute Rounds
20- minute Cycling Cool Down Shower for 5 minutes
