In November of 2014, I probably picked the worst time to start a diet for two reasons, ONE– I was in my mid-50’s, and TWO– It was the start of the holiday season. But I just had an epiphany in October of that year that dramatically changed my perspective of my health and fitness. I had my photograph taken after an interview with an ESPN radio station in Springfield, Missouri about my book that I wrote on the golf swing of the future.

The camera offers one of the most critical and brutal unfiltered perspectives and critiques of your health and fitness that anything can ever offer. Not even having high blood pressure and high cholesterol got my attention like that photograph did. Because nothing escapes the critical eye of the camera lens. It is true that seeing is truly believing!
If you want to make a difference in your life between living and living well (well being in good health and shape) just have someone take a series of photographs of you in various poses. When they say a picture is worth a thousand words, they really do mean that statement. A photograph gives you a reason and incentive that few things can ever do. Just refer to a photograph taken on July 02, 2022 for an article a friend was doing on boxing bag workout, I’m 65 years old with a waistline of 28.50- inches.
If You Want to Make a Change in Your Life You’ll Need a PRIMER to Achieve Your Change
The photograph created a PURPOSE, a REASON, with an INCENTIVE for me to lose weight and get into shape that I was in during my mid-20’s to early 30’s. The other three (3) components that everyone needs to have in order to make a change in their life are- MEANS, EVALUATION, and RESULTS. Evaluation, or metric, is essential in obtaining results you want to achieve, because if you can’t measure it, or see it, you certainly can’t achieve it, whatever IT is.
My PURPOSE, REASON, and INCENTIVE was a Sportswear and Performance Business
My PURPOSE for me getting into shape was that I was retiring in seven months to start a sportswear and performance business in June of 2015. The REASON was that I had plans on modeling my line of sportswear and producing training videos at age 57. I realized this was an audacious plan being 45- Lbs. overweight.
My INCENTIVE was that I wanted to have a waistline that I had when I was in high school and in the U.S. ARMY of 28.50- inches. Remember the camera adds inches to your waistline, so I had to go lower than just my EBMI (Estimated Body Mass Index). The EBMI is number that is based on taking half my height in inches, or for me 65/2= 32.50- inches for a healthy waistline.
I Already had a MEANS that I used a Diet in my 20’s & 30’s
My MEANS, or diet in this case, was what I had followed in my 20’s and 30’s when I was in the best shape since my high school days and being in the service. I referred to my diet, then, as STPD, or Sweet Potatoes, Turkey, and Pinto beans Diet, that are considered the perfect foods.
The other component that was a part of my health and fitness was that I ate before 5 p.m., because I rode my bike 15- miles every day after 6 p.m. I had a waistline at age 32 of 28.50- inches that I wanted to achieve again at age 57.
One of the most important thing that I did to get in shape was that I used analytics to help me evaluate standard nutrition labels, shown above, to develop what I call a Health Index (HI) factor. These STP foods had Health Indexes at or below 3.25 that I used to select other foods that I could eat to turn my body into a Calorie-burning-Turbo-Charged Juggernaut to drop approximately 45- Lbs. at age 57.
EVALUATE to Measure Your RESULTS that You Want to Achieve
Starting on day-one, November 28, 2014, I started charting and recording my waistline every couple of days to EVALUATE my progress and provide metrics for motivation and perseverance to stick with my diet to obtain my RESULTS. I found out that charting my progress was a huge factor in allowing me to realize my RESULTS of dropping 9.25- inches off my waistline that represented 52- LBS.
The Results that I Achieved wasn’t Restricted just Dropping Inches
Within four (4) months of starting my diet, on November 28, 2022, I noticed something else that I was dropping; I was dropping years off the appearance of my skin. There are three components to THE DELPHI DIET & CAST FITNESS System that allowed me to drop over three (3) decades off the condition of my skin, based mainly on WHEN and WHAT I ate.
WHEN– I ate was based on what I did in my late 20’s and early 30’s, when I was in good shape. I ate between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. this allowed my body to rejuvenate my skin and drop decades off the age of my skin. This was later confirmed in a research report that John Tesh read on his radio show, Intelligence for Your Life, on May 11, 2022.

WHAT– I ate was only foods that had a Health Index (HI) factor at or below 3.25 based on 9- factors off Nutrition Labels. The Health Index was what turned my body into a calorie-burning-juggernaut that allowed me to drop those 9.25- inches within 9- months. I lost 6- inches down to 31.75- inches within just 4- months.
Triple Effect of my FITNESS- There is a triple effect of fitness to strengthen muscles, strengthen our immune system, and strengthen and firm up the skin. The combined effects of DIET (WHEN/WHAT) EXERCISING, LIFESTYLE of being active gave me the results I have NOW at age 65.
