THAT’S ONE BILLION Dollars ($$$$) with a “B” in 30- Days

Without giving away the story of this movie Tom Cruise and his cast has surpassed expectations in portraying actual cockpit aerial maneuvers from the start right to the very end of this movie. With a tilt of the cap to the first movie, Tom Cruise and Jerry Bruckheimer depicted the actual carrier deck launch operations to the interaction of elite pilots.

What was notable about TOP GUN:MAVERICK in this movie was the multiple aerial maneuvers, especially what are called the Cobra and the Stall-drift maneuver done in the F-35 Lightning, shown below. You can’t leave the theater without admiration for our service personnel in all six-branches. This movie just highlights the mission that our U.S. Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard and U.S. Space Force perform to secure our Freedoms and maintain our independence.

With July the 4th coming this Monday this would be one of those special patriotic movies that you remember seeing with your parents or relatives as a kid. This movie requires at least two viewings to capture all the recreation of the authenticity of this combat mission. This movie is well worth the price of emission. I have actually seen it three (3) times within a span of two week period. The third time I was taking notes of all the aerial maneuvers that I could recognize.

I have been in aviation for 35- years flying both fixed and rotary wing aircraft, TOP GUN: MAVERICK provided the sense that you are in the cockpit and were pulling the G’s right along with the cast flying in the rear seat of the F-18 Hornet, shown in the featured image.
