THE WEDNESDAY WIRE REPORT

Peter Doocy’s Question was Revealing– Questions are More Revealing than the Answers that are Given, Because they Frame the Situation Clearer
Just after Russia’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, Biden gave a news conference where Peter Doocy, of FOX News, asked a very simple question of Biden- Did you underestimated Putin’s invasion of Ukraine? Where Biden answered- NO! Wrong answer to a simple question, Biden’s action doesn’t back up his answer.
In my case, actions always speak louder than words or have more impact than the printed word. When it comes to politics, I’m totally tone deaf which is a significant advantage for people like myself that aren’t easily persuaded based on what they hear or read, especially with the journalist we have now or reporting, that specialize in propaganda. There’s little doubt that Biden did indeed underestimated Putin’s brutality that has played out on our television screens each day to the atrocities of the Russian Military and their military leadership.
For those of us that weren’t alive to witness the atrocities of World War II, we are having a vivid replay of that history live on our televisions. The Roles played out on the World stage are always are the same, just the characters playing those roles that are only difference, then and now. There was no excuse for Political leadership in Europe and the U.S. to have NOT been prepared for and anticipated the brutality of Putin based on a historical script that is being replayed right NOW.
The defensive weapons and supplies that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been begging for these last past eight (8) weeks that should have been in placed before this invasion took place is evidence that Biden did underestimate the extent of Putin’s brutality. Matter of fact, this invasion shouldn’t even had taken place to the extent it has if proper leadership was in place here in the U.S. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy should have had both ground weapon systems, as well as, fighter and bomber aircraft to turn back Russian incursions just after it had started toward the end of last year.
You don’t wait until cities are destroyed and mass killings occur to start preparing and gearing up to help defend a country, especially with the courage that the Ukrainians have demonstrated. Even in sports, teams don’t wait until the week of gameday to prepare for their opponent. The team prepare months before the season began with strength training and conditioning.
The way you know if the coach has their team prepared and ready for competition is how they execute their game plan effectively with fundamentals both on offense and defense on gameday. The Ukrainians have done a remarkable job in defending their country, the world needs to do more in helping their efforts.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is no doubt the Winston Churchill of our time standing up to a war criminal, that Putin has proved that he is. Like the Battle of Britain, the Ukrainians have shown their courage and resolve in fighting back to push the Russians out of their towns and countryside, they just need equipment, weapons, and aircraft to finish the job.
Biden took on the role similar to that of Neville Chamberlain in his appeasement of giving Hitler the Sudetenland, but in Biden’s case it was given Putin his Nord Stream 2 Pipeline, energy is just as much a tactical advantage as weapons systems are, as we well know. This gave Putin a financial stake in Europe’s dependency on Russia for fuel. Energy is just as strategic as any military influence and force are.
I learned how strategic energy was during Hurricane Katrina and Rita in 2005 here in Mississippi. Not since Hurricane Camille, in 1969, has the Gulf Coast seen that much destruction to property and lives. As a Grid Engineer for a utility, these storms impacted refineries and pumping stations, especially the Colonial Pipeline here in southern Mississippi, that caused this pumping station to shut down and knocked out their vital oil supply that they provide.
Colonial Pipeline should be familiar to most Americans, when they had to shut down because of a cyberattack on May 13, 2021.
I worked with Colonial Pipeline over the years where I had the pleasure of working with professionals in their business. We had to plan any Transmission line maintenance worked that could have a direct impact their pumping operations weeks in advance. They were always accommodating and worked with us on reliability work issues.
I have worked in the energy sector for 33- years, since I got out of college as a young Engineer. I consider energy just as strategic as our military defense is to our nation. You have to know the extent and impact of energy and have experience in the field of energy before anyone start making wholesale changes to our energy resources and production. As we have witnessed just in the past 12- months, alterations made by the Biden’s Administration to our energy production has severely compromised our supplies and reliability of energy that has have devastating consequences. If there was one theme and fundamental principle that was important in the field of energy where I worked, it is reliability, first and foremost.
The HILL has an article that points out that Ukraine isn’t the Sudetenland that Chamberlain gave Hitler prior to World War II, for Peace in Our Time. I agree with that analysis, but the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline was the appeasement that Biden gave Putin that Putin needed. The hook was set with this approval of this pipeline.
We are learning this again now with Biden’s energy plan. His plan no doubt impacts vehicles, but the bigger impact is on the trucking and the airlines industries on inflation. These big rigs and commercial aircraft don’t run off double-A batteries, but are powered by diesel and Jet-A fuel. This has a bigger impact on our economy than gasoline has.
Back to Pete Doocy’s question- Did Biden underestimate the extent of Putin’s invasion and the war crimes that have occurred and the sheer destruction in Ukraine? YES! Like in hand-to-hand combat fighting, it’s the preparation and the anticipation that gives you the ability to respond quickly that will determine your ability to defend yourself that will provide for your security and give you the edge. There is one line in the movie The ROCK that has always stuck with me, where Sean Connery told Nicolas Cage- NEVER HESITATE! ■
