Your Perfect go-to Meal for Health/Fitness to Lower Your Numbers and Risk of Obesity and other Diseases, a Critical Issue with the Pandemic

If this COVID-19 Pandemic proves one thing, it is how important our health and fitness are to us, as our life depends on our health, nutrition, fitness, and lifestyle. We, as Americans, have been served a notice on how our Health depends on our Nutrition, Fitness, and Lifestyle.

A lot of politicians are pointing to the lack of access to proper medical care, especially for minorities, but that isn’t the full story behind the death rate of COVID-19. It is estimated that 46% of American are obese, that is 20% over their ideal body weight, or BMI of 30 or above.

The 46% figure doesn’t include Americans who are overweight, to some degree. A great method to roughly check your BMI (Body Mass Index) is to take the circumference of your waistline (at your belly button), in inches, and divide your waistline measurement by your height, in inches. The results should be at or below 0.50. The lower the number is between 0.50 and 0.40. the better.

Nutrition will be 80 Percent of Your Health

A lot of attention is given to fitness as part of one’s health regimen, and that is a very small part, but still an important part, about 20%. But 80 percent of your overall health is your nutrition component. A lot of people think that to reach their health goals they need to just exercise. Exercise alone is again only 20 percent of your ability to reach your health goals.

If you don’t address your nutrition component, you will not be effective in addressing your overall health; you could actually exercise for one-hour, like I do daily, and burn between 415 – 500 calories, depending on how aggressive the workout sessions are. Then I can turn around and eat, let’s say a Big Mac, I’ve just consumed 563 calories, 63 calories more than I just burned. All calories from certain foods aren’t the same.

I did extensive research in 2014 just after I retired into a diet plan that would not only provide me a healthier diet, but actually allow me to burn-off weight. I just started my small business, THE QATSPY, that included me making YouTube Golf and Fitness Videos. The reason this diet is effective is it’s five (5) factors from the nutrition Label on back of foods or on the website of restaurants and determines what is healthy for the person to eat. See the example of comparing the Sweet Potato to the Idaho Potato where I keep 90 percent of my foods below 3.25:

I lost 35 pounds in 3- months, and a total of 52 pounds in just 9- months. That translated into me losing 8.25- inches in my waistline. I went from a rough BMI of 0.58, down to a rough BMI of 0.453. Better than that, the true test of an effective diet program is that I have kept off my 52 pounds going on now for 5- years.

Not only did I lower my BMI, my waistline (29- inches), and my weight (152 lbs) , I also lowered something more important, my Blood Pressure readings, shown below. This picture and blood pressure was taken at age 62. The image below indicates my average blood pressure reading, and better yet, I’m not on any prescribed medication again at age 62. This proves that age is really just a number!

Hypertension is one of the leading causes of death from COVID-19 from obesity. Below are death statistics caused by COVID-19, from New Orleans as of April 02, 2020:

  • 35% due to Diabetes
  • 25% due to obesity
  • 20% chronic kidney disease
  • 20% cardiac issues

Nutrition and fitness not only reduce your vital readings, these also great anti-aging components. Below I’m 62 years old.

Access to Medical Care

Access to medical care is still an important factor, but what you can do on your own is more important and has more of a drastic impact on your health and fitness. Fitness doesn’t have to be an athletic-type workout; it can be something as simple as a daily walk and a light weight program.

I like what Apostle Paul, a great life coach, wrote to the Philippians that focused on working on your own. This is more important than you think. All the great athletes like Tom Brady has an unbelievable self imposed workout program.

Philippians 2:12 So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling. In other words- be disciplined and follow simple nutrition and an exercise program attached below. One of the perfect foods is Pinto Beans, a great protein source.
