Presently (as of 30Mar2020) the U.S.S. Aircraft Carrier Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) just reported 19 cases of Corvid-19 which is a serious situation in that any situation aboard a Naval Ship, because over 5,000 Sailors and Marines on board.
Using Weight Factor to Mitigate and Solve for the X-Factor, the Covid-19
History is our best indicator to predict and project future events and outcomes. We don’t always have formulas and/or models that we can run to give us definitive answers to issues and obstacles we have to face from time-to-time. But there’s one thing we can do and that is to identify the risk and mitigate the hazards. We can gather as many knowns and facts as we can to arrive at the best decision.
This is where knowing your history gives us an important mental edge. I realize the financial institution’s disclosure statement- That past performance doesn’t guarantee future results. I have been investing in the stock market since I started working at age 12, thanks to my grandfather advise and investing for me. I have seen that my money works as hard as I did and do. Due to my investment opportunity, I was able to retire at age 56, and go from doing what I had to do and having the freedom to do what I want to do.
The key that I used in my investing strategy was simple; assess and eliminate the hazards and mitigate the risk. To have any chance at succeeding at investing, you have to mitigate the risk. I didn’t state that I eliminated the risk, but mitigated risk.
Drugs That are Being Considered to Treat Covid-19
Doctors are raising concerns over the use of certain off-label drugs to treat Covid-19. They want 12 to 24 months of double blind trials to be performed before using certain drugs on Covid-19. I would love to have that luxury, but we don’t that luxury under the current conditions. We are going to have to go with what we have and know now. We have small trials in France with 80 patients. These results have great promise where 78 of these patients recovered, one patient is in the ICU and another one is decease.
There are underlining situations that put certain patients at greater risk than others with Corvid-19. You have to weigh if a patient that died was directly related to Covid-19 that had other underlining conditions; or a case where the patient that died was predominately from other underlining conditions where the patient happened to also have Corvid-19 as well.
Hydroxychloroquine that was used in the French trials is used to treat Malaria. In Africa, Malaria is a common issue. Africa has the lower rate of Covid-19 than any other Continent. There might be other extenuating circumstances, but this does cause the medical experts to look at this drug. If there’s any possibility to have a positive outcome using Hydroxychloroquine or other medication, we have to take that chance on the more serious cases.

The Battle of Midway
I would like to use the Battle of Midway to help support the Government’s approach to using off-label medicines, like Hydroxychloroquine and other medications to treat Covid-19.
The U.S. Military Code Breakers broke the Japanese code before the Japanese launched their second naval attack against the U.S. Military in the Pacific. Similar to the Pearl Harbor attack on December 7, 1941, the Japanese, six months after Pearl Harbor, on June 4, 1942, planned to establish a forward base at Midway Island to attack the U.S. West coast, this included states like: California, Oregon, and Washington.
The Code breakers picked up or intercepted Japanese transmission about an attack against a site called AF. The Code Breakers brought Admiral Chester Nimitz, Sr.’s attention about the Japanese intentions to attack a site AF, thought to be Midway at the time. To test their theory, the Code Breakers requested if they could broadcast in the clear that Midway was having trouble with their fresh-water distilling unit.
After broadcasting the message about the fresh-water distilling unit being off line, the Code Breakers picked up the Japanese coded message that stated that ‘AF’ was having trouble with their fresh-water distilling unit.
Committing to Their Theory
The Admiralty came up with a plan to ambush the Japanese four aircraft Carriers near Midway, but it involved U.S. Navy putting the only three aircraft carriers we had in harm’s way. If we lost one or all our aircraft carrier(s) at Midway, we would put our ability to fight and win the Pacific War at jeopardy. President Roosevelt who weighed the plan and decided it was worth the risk. All great leaders balance the risk with the benefits of a decision.
The U.S. Navy Aviators used Torpedoes, fighters, and bomber aircraft to catch the Japanese four Aircraft Carriers totally exposed without any air cover. The U.S. Navy Aviators were able to sink all four of the Japanese carriers. This turned the war into the U.S.’s favor for the first time during the war in the Pacific and to go on offense for the first time.
This is a perfect example of accurately assessing the risk and mitigating the hazards. You have to go with what you know at the time and make the best decision with the present facts that you have.
We have some great options, including Hydroxychloroquine, Plasma Passive Antibodies Therapy, and other medications. What is a great benefit is the opportunity to use Right-to-Try as a great platform to use and test these treatments and eradicate Covid-19, like we did polio. That’s that we must keep our American Spirit alive and well to fight this invisible enemy.
NOTE: Plasma Passive Antibodies Therapy was used during the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic, this was over a hundred years ago.
