The 3-Muscletiers- Effective and Simple Golf Swing Drill Sequence

The 3-Muscletiers golf swing Drill sequence of Sync and Preset is a highly effective and simple golf swing that uses three key muscles in the forearm. These three muscles, The Thenars, Brachio-Radialis, and Supinator, are a part of the golfer’s Critical Swing Path. The Critical Swing Path allows the golfer to train their subconscious mind to establish muscle memory using the Sync and Preset swing elements without having to think. This 3-Muscletier golf swing Drill sequence allows the golfer to execute a consistent golf swing with authority.

The authority the golfer is able to exercise over their golf swing is from a self-coaching, subconscious process, process that can be incorporated into the golfer’s normal exercise and golf practice routine. This practice, or 3-Muscletier golf swing drill sequence, objective is to Sync the golfer’s predominant elbow with the shoulders and Preset their wrists. The golfer will be able to develop the power and speed needed at impact.

The Sync and preset elements from the 3-Muscletiers golf swing drill sequence allow the golfer to train their subconscious mind, which is essential for developing muscle memory. The Subconscious mind, self coaching, training is the missing link in the majority of the golfer’s practice sessions. The golfer, using the 3-Muscletier golf swing Drill sequence to train their subconscious mind, can naturally be replicated in their golf swing mechanics, both during their practice sessions, and more importantly, on the golf course, where it counts.

The Golfer’s 3-Muscletiers Muscles

The 3-Muscletiers golf swing Drill sequence, establishing the Sync and Preset elements, is directly related to how the Thenars are synchronized with the Brachio-Radialis, and the Supinator muscles. The importance is how the Thenars are used to set the golfer’s Brachio-Radialis and the Supinator muscles. This determines how consistent the golfer’s swing and shot making will be executed on the golf course.

Brachio-Radialis Muscle  Supinator Muscle

The advantage of the 3-Muscletiers golf swing Drill sequence is that these muscles are located in the golfer’s wrists and forearms, where supination, Sync, and pronation, Preset, take place. These maneuvers, if set correctly, can synchronize the golfer’s predominant elbow with the shoulders and set the golfer’s wrists. Syncing and Presetting the golfer’s elbow and wrists provide the power and speed the golfer needs to make a consistent golf swing to lower the golfer’s score and handicap.

The 3-Muscletiers Training Drill and Exercises

In my book, The ESPY Golf Swing Coach, I explain in detail how each Thenar is used to link-up, or synchronize, with the golfer’s predominant Brachio-Radialis and Supinator muscles. These two elements are a significant part of the golfer’s swing mechanics. The golfer’s swing mechanics depend on how the Sync and Preset elements are established. These two elements establish 80 percent of the golfer’s swing naturally. The Sync and Preset techniques were the golf swing mechanics that Arnold Palmer and David Duval used to help other golfers understand their golf swing mechanics. Arnold Palmer discussed his Sync technique in an Article in Kingdom Magazine, while David Duval demonstrated his wrist preset technique with Charlie Rymer on Golf Channel.

There are four exercises that I have incorporated into my CASPER Workout Program to strengthen and to develop the critical muscle memory and fundamental golf swing mechanics that are needed to execute a consistent golf swing. These exercises consist of the following:

  • Reverse Preacher Curls
  • Normal Curls
  • Medicine Ball Stocking the Shelves
  • Boxing Bag workout

You can get more details on these exercises in Section 20, CASPER Workout Program, in my book or search for these on the internet. I also use the boxing gloves to help me properly set the golfer’s predominant Supinator and Brachio-Radialis muscles with each of the Thenar muscles.

A Recommendation for your Golf Game:

I would like to recommend an interesting  radio program that I regularly listen to on my I-Heart Radio app on KARN 102.9 FM station, out of Little Rock, AR. They air a golf show program called Arkansas Fairways and Greens, at 7:00 AM CT each Saturday morning, hosted by Bob Steel, and co-hosted by Jay Fox and Charles Crowson. Bob occasionally has on his show as his guest Alex Myers with Golf Digest and Ron Sirak with Golf Channel. This show is worth tuning into for golf news and information.
