To Feel & Look younger, You’ll Need to Think & Act Younger– Your Health & Fitness are Important, But Your Lifestyle is Essential to You
When I worked with a transmission line utility company for 33-years, we always had consultants coming in to help us to be more proficient and to be in better shape. The work we did required us to be in top mental, emotional, and physical shape, as our lives depended on it. This is due to the heights and hazards that we worked with daily.
One consultant referenced Proverbs 23:7 in his presentation– For as he thinks within himself, so he is. He just didn’t use the reference, which I thought was odd. If you are going to make a direct quote, you should always reference the source. I learned this scripture from my grandfather before the age of six. But this is actually what is the cornerstone to our health, fitness, and our ability to retain our youth. To be young, you’ve got to think young.
Bobby Jones, Sr., in a reference to the sport of golf, stated- Golf is a game that is played on a five-inch course. This is the distance between one’s ears. If you are going to make the biggest impact on your overall health, it will have to be in how you think and how you want to live your life.
The DELPHI AD DIET & FITNESS System for Retaining One’s Youth
I follow The DELPHI AD DIET & FITNESS System, where DELPHI stands for DIET, EXERCISE, and LIFESTYLE Performance Health Index. The initials AD stands for Age Defying. You have to stay active, even in your 60’s, 70’s, and beyond if you want to stay healthy. Sports is certainly one avenue to achieve this healthy lifestyle.
I would encourage everyone to stay active in sports to keep your mind and body challenged. Believe me, your body will adjust to the challenges. You just will have to learn to pace yourself and allow for recovery.
After I retired from line work that has its own challenges, you just can’t go from that type of life to a rocker. If you do, you’ll lose your mind and health, in short order. That is one reason that I bought my INDIAN Scout Bobber 60 Motorcycle. Before I retired, I made my passion my new profession where I started a performance sports training and apparel company, THE QATSPY®.
Not only did I make fitness and training videos, I also model my apparel that I carry in my Online Store with models in their early 20’s. When I retired, I was able to dedicate more time to my CASE fitness program. CASE stands for Cardio-Aerobics, and Strength Exercise Program. This has allowed me to keep playing golf, where I walk the course (8.85 miles) with a 45 LB bag in tow.
Just a side note- I’m finally glad Peloton finally added strength training to their Cardio and aerobic workout, after numerous notes that I sent to the Peloton Corporation.
If someone thinks that golf isn’t a sport, I would challenge them to borrow a bag of golf clubs, go to a practice football field using just a pitching wedge (PW); and hit just 100-yard pitch shots to within 15- feet of the goal post vertical support pole, like I’m doing in the series of videos below. And do that 85 times while towing the 45 LB bag from each end of the end zone.
The Orange Bucket Challenge
A Television Station contacted me, last year, about illustrating my GOLFER’S BRACHS – PALMER Technique on their sports show in leading up to the 2021 US OPEN. The film crew, during a pre-production meeting, asked how they could capture a 295- yard drive on tape. Even with zoom lenses, they wanted to use just one camera. I informed them that I was going to use AlmostGOLF Balls that only travel a third (1/3rd) of the distance of an actual golf ball. So essentially, you’re hitting in feet, instead of yards up to 100 yards. This makes a football field ideal.
I got permission from the Germantown High School here in Madison, Mississippi to use their football practice field to demonstrate my driver using these AlmostGOLF Balls. I appreciate them mowing the field before we shot the golf challenge. This would be the perfect setup for this filming, because I was hitting my driver 295- feet, that would be, in actual distance, a 295- yard tee shot to within 15- feet of the Home Depot Orange Bucket with a pin and a flag.
Their other concern that the film crew had was how many takes would we have to do to get all of what I wanted to do and describe in each video. We did it in one take to their surprise, because the dialogue that I was using is what I use in my golf instructions. I can quote it from memory. Below are the actual cuts that the film crew shot and their promo that they put together for me and the Sports Zone show being aired on WJTV-12 here in Jackson, Mississippi:

THE QATSPY® AMERICAN CLASSIC LEATHER JACKET COLLECTION
The U.S. A-2 Leather Jacket has been a major part of our history (both military and civilian) since 1931 when the U.S. Army Air Corps developed and issued the leather flight jacket to pilots during World War II. A version of this iconic and classic A-2 Leather Flight Jacket became the persona of two legendary entertainers/actors- Fonzie in Happy Days and Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
