The Best Defense Against COVID-19 is Your Health and Fitness- Given the Statistical Data as early as March of 2020, Your Fitness is Key

If there was ever a reason to take your health and fitness seriously, it is during this COVID-19 Pandemic. Just looking at the top underlying causes of death from the ravages of COVID-19 pandemic, these conditions have to do with our fitness status as a nation. This is an astonishing statistic, but 43% of our population is obese that leads to compromising one’s health. Obese means that the BMI figure is of over 30, or greater.

A rule-of-thumb for figuring your BMI is to take your height in inches and divide your height by your waistline in inches. You want the figure to be equal to 2 or great for a healthier BMI figure. I have a BMI of 2.290

Obesity contributes to three of the top underlying causes of people not surviving COVID-19. Matter of fact, fat cells actually assist COVID-19 in overcoming your immune system by being an ACE-2 receptor, where COVID-19 can enter your system and suppress your immune system. The four leading causes of death from COVID-19 were these in March:

  • 35% due to Diabetes
  • 25% due to obesity
  • 20% chronic kidney disease
  • 20% cardiac issues  

Getting into Shape Doesn’t Have to be Your Insurmountable Goal

Being overweight doesn’t have to be an insurmountable obstacle that you can’t overcome. You can even use your body to be your biggest fat-burning juggernaut that works for you, instead of against you. I’m proof that you can allow your body to help you burn off your weight. I developed the ASCOT-DIET that allowed me to lose 35 pounds and 4.75-inches in my waist within 4-weeks and 52-pounds and 8.00- inches within 9- months. That is not all, as noted in the featured photograph I have maintained my weight loss for going on seven- years now.

I was 57 and getting ready to retire to start my own Sports Fitness Training and apparel business. I was going to use what I accomplished and learned in my weight lost and fitness of losing 52- pounds at age 56, to not only produce my golf training and fitness videos, but to actually model my line of apparel items in my online store, as shown in the photograph below, at age 63.

I’m modeling the US WINGS Authentic A-2 Leather Flight Jacket that we supply to the U.S. Military. This is the only sport jacket that I wear for business attire and for weekend. This A-2 Leather Flight Jacket was developed in May of 1931 after the 1918 Spanish Flu in order to protect pilots from future pandemics.

My fitness was so effective that linemen that I used to work with before I retired in 2015, couldn’t believe the shape that I was in at age 63 when I was called back in to assist in hurricane restoration efforts. The featured photograph above was taken on a dare that I would pose without my shirt beside a KOMATSU Bulldozer.
