Hurricanes Laura and Delta made landfall in Louisiana in August and October, near Lake Charles destroying homes, businesses, and infrastructure right during a pandemic. I have been retired from a transmission line company for six years. Due to the extensive damage, even retirees are called upon to assist with restoration efforts with this much line damage.

Not since Katrina or Rita in 2005 has this much extensive damage been incurred in Mississippi, Arkansas, and particularly Louisiana that was hit hard. This included distribution and transmission lines, both of various voltages.

 

In the featured photograph, I’m 63 years old. Let me explain why my shirt is off in this photograph. This was taken on a dare from lineman and engineers that I used to work with who could not believe that I was in this good of shape at my age. Since they saw me in August of 2014, I’ve lost 52- pounds and over 8- inches in my waist. I realize this is not the six-pack you see in ads, but that is what I’m working toward especially with exercises specifically for the abdominal area. There is one important fact about abdominal muscles- good ab muscles- great back health.

Retirement Doesn’t Mean That You Have to Age or Compromise Your Health

I contribute the 8- inches and 52- pounds lost to my 925-MET Diet and CASPER Fitness Program that I developed soon after I retired. I lost both inches and weight, within 9- months, at age 57. I defied the odds of losing weight after age 50. But not only that, I gained another benefit from the 925-MET Diet that is high in fiber and protein, and low in sugar and starches.

Both fiber and protein are very beneficial to your skin in reducing inflammation and improving elasticity and collagen of the skin, thereby reducing the effects of aging. The fitness also improves the effectiveness of T-cells, which are critical to your health and age-defying skin. This is not to mention protection from the effects of this pandemic.

My Skincare Procedure

My skincare procedures are very basic that include AXE Snake Peel that contains cactus oil. My skincare also includes witch hazel, basic moisturizers, and shaving with soap, followed by rinsing with ice cold water and Aramis. The most important skincare measure that I follow and I use religiously is applying sunscreen when I play golf, work on my farm, ride my motorcycle, or fly.
