James Meredith Breaking Dems’ Jim Crow Laws– by Meredith beached the color barrier in Dixiecrat Mississippi on October 2nd, 1962 at Ole Miss. Protected by U.S. Marshall, James Meredith defied the Democratic Mississippi Gov Ross Barnett Segregation Orders
Our Declaration of Independence has these words penned to it that opens with-
When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
This was what James Meredith did in his brave and right to be admitted to Ole Miss:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–
That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,–That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
….But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security….
James Meredith Historical Story at Ole Miss
James Meredith under court order and protected by U.S. Marshalls was admitted to the University of Mississippi, better known in Starbuck’s song Moonlight Feel Right as Ole Miss. Dixiecrat Governor Ross Barnett denied Meredith admittance to Ole Miss. Barnett isn’t the only Democratic Governor that denied black students admittance into a public educational institutions.
Along with Mississippi Democrat Gov. Barnett, Democrat Oral Faubus of Arkansas; and Gov. George Wallace of Alabama denied black students the basic right to enroll into a public institution of education.
Pleasure of Meeting James Meredith
I had the pleasure of meeting James Meredith, a Republican, at the 60th anniversary recognizing James Meredith breaking the grip of the Democrat’s Jim Crow Laws with his admittance into Ole Miss. Because of efforts like Booker T. Washington, James Meredith, Medgar Evers, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and even brave people like President of Mississippi State University, Dean Colvard, and Head Basketball Coach Babe McCarthy, by defied the Mississippi Democrat Gov. Ross Barnett order in attending the 1963 NCAA Basketball Championship.
The Bravery of Mississippi State Officials
The 1963 MUS Basketball team snuck out of Mississippi at night to play in the NCAA Basketball Tournament. These are people that helped to change Mississippi from burning with Democratic Racism to a state that rose up from those ashes into a State the supporting– We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness with Safety.
Anti-Antisemitism in Blue Areas
Not since Reconstruction had ended by the Democrats in 1877, have we as a state have made significant progress in fighting bigotry in all its forms.
As a Jew I’m now seeing a party (Democrats) that supports Anti-Antisemitism on college campuses that I thought was just a part of history ONLY. The stories I heard of my grandparents recounting was part of the dark history of Nazi Germany that they lived through. I thought Anti-Antisemitism was condemned to our past. Now the Democratic Party has allowed this hatred to fester where educators refused to stop this type of bigotry and riots.
We have witnessed that when a single candle is lit in a darkroom and witness what benefits all of us can see that which is around us. Case in point is Sports- that we all enjoy has highlighted the benefit of enlightenment that is only one case among many others. If there was another movement that has broken down bigotry, it was Sports. But when that one candle is extinguished not only does it limits our vision; but other candles that can’t be lit of all. Freedom and Liberty die in darkness.

This is worth remembering- The 11 states that seceded from the Union in 1860 and 1861, all were Democratically controlled that supported and instituted Jim Crow Laws and abolished Reconstruction (1865 – 1877) that gave many American HOPE after a brutal Civil War was fought.
The Democrats are holding the Convention in Chicago that I refer to as the Nuremberg Rally
